San Chi ethnic community in Phu Giao District organizes new year crop fest

Early February 21 (the sixth of Lunar January), Tam Lap Commune’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee in Phu Giao District coordinated with San Chi community to organize new year crop fest. Addressing the event, Nguyen Anh Vu, Chairman of Tam Lap Commune People’s Committee informed that the event is variant of San Chi community in Tam Lap Commune; thus, the fest is being promoted to become general fest of the locality in a bid to preserve comprehensive cultural traits of local ethnic community.

The fest is traditionally held by San Chi Community on the sixth of lunar January in a wish for good harvest and peaceful new year for everyone. For this year, the fest has become focal local festival to be organized on the fifth and sixth of lunar January including rituals, dances, and folk games.
