Province’s FDI attraction reaches 65.5% of year’s plan

On the afternoon of April 24, provincial People’s Committee held a periodic session with focus on reviewing the local socio-economic development, national defence-security in April, 2019, which was presided over by Tran Than Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) in April, 2019 surged 9% and 12.85% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND18.92trillion, up 2.6% against the previous month. The province’s trade surplus was US$2.35billion.

Also during the period, the province absorbed more than VND15.29trillion in domestic capital from 1,695 newly-registered projects and 264 extra-ones. Especially, the province attracted US$372million in FDI capital. The figure has brought the total FDI capital flowing into the province over the past four months to US$917million, up 51% compared to the same period or 65.5% of the year’s plan. In addition, the province ensured social welfare, maintained national defence-security.

Speaking at the session, Mr.Liem asked for sectors, departments and localities to well realize major tasks in the coming time, including hastening the progress of basic construction; taking specific solutions to improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Index (PAPI); well realizing administrative discipline; speeding up propaganda and taking solutions to minimize traffic accidents; streamlining the apparatus…
