On the afternoon of November 29, Masayasu Hosokawa, representative of Nara province’s Yoshino township in Japan led a delegation to visit and seek opportunities for investment cooperation in the woodwork industry in Binh Duong. Yoshino township is among Japan’s top 8 localities in the woodwork industry with an abundant supply of timber. Binh Duong takes Vietnam’s localities in this industry, but there are up to 60% of timber imported. It is known that Vietnamese furniture products now have good competitiveness in the world market. However, woodwork processing technologies of Binh Duong in particular and Vietnam in general have not reached modern development. That’s reason why cooperation with Japan, including Nara township in this industry is very necessary.

Speaking at the reception, Mr.Liem wanted that after learning about Binh Duong’s investment climate, Japanese businesses will support the local businesses to make innovation and modernization for woodwork industry in order to reach better competitiveness and production.
