JICA supports Binh Duong in public transport development

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, on June 20, worked with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Izaki Hiroshi, Chief Representative of JICA in HCM city about the result of collecting figures of a project on provincial public transport infrastructure improvement.

The province’s public transport infrastructure improvement project and bus rapid transit (BRT) route, which is designed to begin at Binh Duong New City and end at Suoi Tien metro station, aim to shorten travel time between Binh Duong, HCM City and Dong Nai province. It also contributes to tackling traffic jams in the province.

At the working session, the two sides reached unanimity on adjusting some issues of the project. Mr.Liem said that the project bears a very important significance and this is the first time the province has coordinated with the JICA so the two sides need to have sufficient preparations for good implementation.
