Summer youth volunteer campaign 2020, “Voluntary Saturday” program launched

Early July 5, Tan Uyen town’s Youth Union in Tan Uyen town held a ceremony to launch the summer youth volunteer campaign 2020 at the monument of victory of Ba Kien bridge’s watch-tower.

At the ceremony, the town’s volunteer youth squads, namely “Green operation”, “Three-color shirt alliance”, “Green summer” and “Pink vacation”, carried out many useful works. Particularly, they cleared 1.5 km of in-field canal in Thanh Phuoc ward’s Du Khanh quarter; visited and offered gifts to policy beneficiaries; made propaganda against drug abuse for 200 young workers in Thai Hoa ward and delivered 2,000 leaflets on drug prevention to locals. They also organized a playground for the offspring of young workers…

*The same day, the Youth Union of An Binh ward in Di An city organized a ceremony to launch the “Red flamboyand” campaign 2020 with the participation of nearly 100 Youth Union members.

At the ceremony, the ward’s Youth Union got involved in such significant activities as providing free medical check-up, medicine for the poor; cleaning up monuments; paying tribute to the families of former youth volunteers, police beneficiaries; organizing forums…The local Youth Union members also made environmental hygiene; delivered leaflets on crime and disease prevention to locals.

In addition, the ward’s Youth Union also carried out a “Pink vacation” campaign; visited and presented gifts worth VND350,000 each to two policy beneficiary families of Nguyen Duc Nghia and Nguyen Thi Sang.

*Prior to that, TDM city’s Youth Union held a “Voluntary Saturday” program. Accordingly, Youth Union members of wards in the city coordinated with the city’s soldiers to carry out a work on “Nguyen Chi Thanh flower street” in Hiep An ward’s quarter 1; cleaned up and removed illegal ads on the street…

The program aimed to well realize the campaign of “Civilized urban and cultural lifestyle construction” 2020 and uphold the voluntary spirit of youths in building up green, clean and nice urban areas.

*Early July 5, the Youth Union branch of provincial Police Agency’s Investigation Division of Drug-Related Crime worked with Tan Uyen town’s Thai Hoa ward to organize a show on law dissemination for more than 200 young workers and residents in Thai Hoa ward.

At the event, reporters disseminated regulations on drug prevention, especially emphasized the harmful effects of drug abuse and the complicated development of drug-related crime…

On this occasion, soldiers and Youth Union members of the two units delivered 1,000 propaganda leaflets on drug prevention to young workers and locals.
