Morning 1 Dec, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Revolutionary Imprisoned Soldiers’ Liaison in Binh Duong province hosted the 59th anniversary of “Phu Loi cam thu” at Phu Loi Prison. Participants included leaders of Provincial Party Propaganda and Training Committee, Mass Mobilization Committee, departments, branches, the liaison and students.

After the two long-term, arduous and fierce resistance war, millions of people and soldier sacrificed their lives for the cause of independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people, including revolutionary imprisoned soldiers of the whole country in general and of Binh Duong in particular. Phu Loi Prison is one of the six largest prisons in the South. At this prison, the enemy used all cruel tortures... They also built correctional centers to seduce, break away, distort... to destroy of fighting spirit of revolutionary soldiers. When their tricks and conspiracies failed, they poisoned revolutionary soldiers.

With this historical significance, on 10 Jul 1980, Phu Loi Prison was recognized as a national historical monument. This is a red address to propagate and educate the younger generation on provincial history, the fighting spirit of our elders. On the other hand, the province founded Revolutionary Imprisoned Soldiers’ Liaison to connect people, who have participated in the resistance wars, who were imprisoned by the enemy, to support them.

At present, the province has 818 soldiers receiving the medal and monthly allowance. On this occasion, 18 revolutionary imprisoned soldiers received the Prime Minister’s medal for their contribution to the revolution.
