198 outstanding collectives, individuals in caring for laborers honored

Provincial People’s Committee yesterday held a ceremony to award the certificates of merit to outstanding collectives, individuals in taking care of the lives of laborers on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2017. Attending the event were Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of sectors, departments, mass organizations in the province.

On the Tet festival 2017, the local sectors and authorities at all levels offered 11,383 gifts worth more than VND5.6billion to workers. The local Trade Unions at all levels also gave free bus tickets worth VND3.5billion for workers to travel home for Tet under the “Sentimental Tet bus” program.

Additionally, more than 100 businesses supported more than VND11billion for more than 12,000 workers to return home for Tet; coordinated with trade union locals to present gifts worth VND113billion to workers; organized year-end parties, lucky draw programs with thousands of valuable gifts…The province and businesses also paid attention to taking care of the spiritual life of workers by organizing art performances before, during and after Tet.

With the above efforts, 149 businesses and 49 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee.
