49 out of 63 provinces, cities get Covid-19 vaccine for phase 2

The Ministry of Health has just issued the Decision No. 1896 / QD-BYT on adjusting the allocation of 110,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for the second phase of the vaccination drive.

Accordingly, of the 80,000 doses allocated to the military forces, 35,000 doses will be distributed to the military forces, 34,350 doses to the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control in 44 provinces and cities nationwide, including 15,450 doses in the Northern region, 8,200 doses in the Central region, 3,450 doses in the Central Highlands region, 7,250 doses in the Southern region.

In addition, the Ministry of Health also provided additional 10,650 doses for 5 provinces and cities, comprising of An Giang province’s Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) with 2,200 doses; Tay Ninh province’s CDPC with 2,250 doses; Kien Giang province’s CDPC with 2,200 doses; Dong Thap province’s CDPC with 2,000 doses; Long An province’s CDPC with 2,000 doses. These additional doses of vaccine are given to priority subjects under the Government's Resolution No. 21 / NQCP dated February 26, 2021, in addition to armed and police forces.

Also under the decision, the ministry adjusted 30,000 doses allocated to police forces to the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control of 62 provinces and cities nationwide.

On April 1, Vietnam received 811,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine supplied by the COVAX Facility. On April 7, the Ministry of Health announced the allocation of the vaccine  for the second phase, and so far the vaccine has reached 49 of the 63 provinces and cities./.
