AAA Insurance general director donates VND1.5bil to suspension bridge building

KonTum province Public Security in cooperation with the province’s Ngoc Hoi district started a construction on suspension bridge crossing over Po Ko bridge on June 21. The construction will link up villages of Ka Nhay, Dak B and Dak Ro Me. The 120m long bridge will cater for over 2,000 local residents and pupils in 3 communes of Dak Ang, Dak Nong and Dak Duc.

The Storm No.9 in 2009 swept away many suspension bridges along the Po Ko River. Since then thousands of people in Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province must cross the river by swinging themselves on cables like circus artists.

Do Thi Kim Lien, general director of AAA Insurance Company decided to donate VND1.5bil to build the bridge after knowing about the dangerous means of transport of riverside residents along Po Ko River on TV.
