Action Month for Food Safety and Hygiene launched in Thuan An

Early April 16, Thuan An town’s Steering Board of Food Safety and Hygiene held a ceremony to launch the Action Month for Food Safety 2018 under the theme of “Strengthening responsibility of food producers and traders”.

After the ceremony, hundreds of Youth Union members together with flower- decorated trucks took part in a parade through the town’s main streets.

It is known that last year, the town’s functional agencies took measures to strengthen food safety and hygiene. They also paid attention to propaganda on food safety and hygiene, contributing to raising public awareness in this field. In addition, they regularly maintained food trading facilities, contributing to opportunely discovering and handling wrong cases. They carried out over 2,400 inspection tours, discovered and tackled 200 wrong facilities on food safety and hygiene with a total fine of more than VND1.4billion.
