Activities welcoming New Year, marking 20 years of Binh Duong’s development held

On January 1 and 2, a variety of activities welcoming the New Year 2017 and marking 20 years of Binh Duong’s development were organized across the province.

Provincial leaders take part in the 18th provincial Cross-Country Run welcoming New Year-BTV Number One 2017

One of special programs celebrating the New Year 2017 was a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the province’s reestablishment at provincial Administration Center’s square on the evening of January 1. This was a great political event, marking the robust growth of the local Party, government and people during the past 20 years. At the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the first-class Independence Medal to the province and delivered a speech to congratulate the local Party, government and people on this occasion. A special art performance under the theme of “Binh Duong-20 years of glorious development” was also organized, absorbing numerous workers and locals.

Prior to that, on the morning of the same day, the 18th provincial Cross-Country Run welcoming New Year-BTV Number One 2017, which was co-held by Binh Duong Radio-Television Station (BTV) and provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism took place at provincial Convention-Exhibition Center. This year’s tournament absorbed nearly 10,000 athletes.

Along with the above-mentioned events, localities and units across the province got animated with cultural-art activities welcoming the New Year 2017 and 20 years of the province’s development. Thuan An town organized a program “Thuan An welcomes New Year 2017”; Ben Cat town with a program “Binh Duong with new living rhythm”; Phu Giao with a program “Celebrating Binh Duong’s renewal”; provincial Library with a photo exhibition themed “Binh Duong-20 years of construction and development”…
