An opportunity for Binh Duong to develop further

This was the general opinion of many experts, the business community, and people in the province about the fact that Binh Duong province hosted the 2018 WTA Summit.

After Daejon city (South Korea) and Binh Duong province established a friendly relation in 2005, two localities have exchanged and cooperated with each other. I hope that the hosting of WTA 2018 on occasion of the 20th WTA anniversary would contribute to bringing the image of Binh Duong province to all WTA members, making Binh Duong the leading place in building a smart city in Southeast Asia.

Businesses and people in the province are looking forward to the 2018 WTA Summit. The conference will be an opportunity for Binh Duong to promote its brand and image; At the same time, it will affirm that Binh Duong is a dynamic, creative, potential land with the potential of international cooperation for smart city construction.

I hope, through this event, Binh Duong will exchange, share, study, cooperate with other countries in the world, so that Binh Duong choose a roadmap, detailed plans in line with the practical conditions for the province for building a smart city.

I am very proud of Binh Duong for hosting the 2018 WTA Summit. Binh Duong has been developing rapidly in terms of socio-economic development for more than 20 years. With the available infrastructure, I believe that Binh Duong is able to well organize international events such as the WTA Summit.

I also hope that Binh Duong would organize more international events, helping the province to have exchange opportunities in economic, cultural, scientific and technical information aspects with international friends. This will shorten Binh Duong's distance to major urban centers in the region and make Binh Duong an economic, cultural, scientific-technical center in the future.

I hope that, with the WTA’s membership, domestic enterprises in the country in general, and in Binh Duong province in particular will have the opportunity to get trade cooperation, expand markets, and strengthen exchanges and share experiences among domestic enterprises and with foreign businesses, towards smart city building.

Regarding my business, I hope to connect, cooperate and sign technology transfer contracts with hi-tech enterprises to create high-quality and affordable Vietnamese brands. I would also like to have access to universities to order high quality labor to meet our real needs.

The fact that Binh Duong hosted the 20th WTA anniversary is a clear evidence for the province’s position in the international arena. Being a member of modern civilized cities’ association will also help Binh Duong to shape and develop the future city.

In the integration context, WTA could help Binh Duong become a meeting place of scientific and technical achievements from developed countries. WTA will also help Binh Duong carry out a wide range of policy researches and analyses as well as capacity building projects to bridge between science and policymaking.

This is an opportunity to bring Binh Duong image to all WTA members in the world and to help Binh Duong become a leading place in building smart city in Southeast Asia. I am very proud that Binh Duong became a member of the World Technopolis Association. More and more international friends have known about us. During the trip to Korea, I met many people in Seoul, they knew a lot about Binh Duong, which made me very proud. Binh Duong became a member of the WTA. This provides many opportunities for young people in the province. I hope that with provincial leaders’ efforts to improve administrative procedures, invest in infrastructure, and build up Binh Duong smart city, in the future there would be many multinational corporations deciding to invest in Binh Duong. Under that condition, young people will have access to many good works.

I would also hope that people and businesses in Binh Duong would be well aware of their responsibilities, for example, towards the environment, food safety, improving English skills, knowledge... to raise the status of Binh Duong land and people, continue to make a good impression in the international arena.

In my opinion, the WTA 2018 Summit is one of the most important events of Binh Duong in recent years. Binh Duong is on the road to a smart city. To achieve the objective of becoming a clean and beautiful green industrial city; a political, economic, cultural and social center and an important transport hub in the southern key economic region; turning towards a smart city, Binh Duong province has step by step planned and built civilized and modern urban areas. Although these are just first steps, Binh Duong has achieved certain results.

However, the province needs experience of other science cities in the world. Therefore, this event is an opportunity for Binh Duong to learn valuable experiences from international friends. One important thing is that Binh Duong must organize this conference very well to advertise the image of Vietnam land and people to the world.
