Thuan An is known as a young and fast-growing city having great potentials to become a riverside city. Over the years, Thuan An city has created many momentum with an impressive growth rate. This is also the reason for many investors to choose Thuan An city as a destination for investment into production and business operations.

We returned to Thuan An City, walking along Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van Street, and DT743B to feel the change of the land. Along the two sides of the widely invested and well-ventilated roads are commercial and residential works mixed with spacious and busy planned industrial zones. Looking at the lines of cars and people in tandem moving busily on familiar roads we could not hold back our recollection and thought about a rich and beautiful Thuan An city in reality.

From My Phuoc - Tan Van Highway, we turned to An Phu - An Thanh Street to gradually move towards the center of Thuan An city, where many people call it "the old town". When we arrived at Cau Ngang Tourist Area, the sun was just set, giving way to brightly colored welcoming gates along the busy streets of traffic and shops bustling in lights.

It would be a neglect if we only looked and thought of Thuan An city as an industrial city as, in addition to the rapid development and strong industrial group of trade-services, and urban agriculture, ecotourism has been and is "blossoming and bearing fruit". In reality, development in the wards of Lai Thieu, Vinh Phu, Binh Nham, An Thanh, Binh Chuan, An Phu in Thuan An city include commercial activities and services which have become active through day and night. It can be affirmed that consumable goods, restaurants and entertainment services in the above-mentioned localities are enough to meet the needs of Thuan An people and tourists from far and wide.

Getting to Lai Thieu, we have the opportunity to return to traditional values when passing Chau Van Tiep and Ngo Quyen streets which specialize in manufacturing and trading souvenir items of ceramics, oil paintings, and lacquer handicrafts. Many locals choose to sit and enjoy tea and coffee on the banks of the winding canals in the middle of Lai Thieu ward - the section across Phan Dinh Phung Bridge to see the shopping scene, which is a meaningful pastime of those who have a strong love for the traditional values of their homeland.

The evening shadow fell on the romantic Saigon River, it makes travelers like us unable to help dreaming while walking along the banks of the Saigon River. Although the quantity and service quality of the restaurants and services on this route are still quite modest, it holds the advantage of a charming and romantic scenery that nature offers and we believe that this area is sure becoming a bustling commercial and service complex along the river.

The socio-economic development orientation outlined in the Resolution of Thuan An city Party Congress of 2020-2025 term, Thuan An city is determined to continue to maintain a high growth rate with a spearhead strategy of industrial and trade-service development. The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction by gradually increasing the proportion of trade-services and gradually reducing industry to maintain urban agriculture stably. Accordingly, in 2020-2025, maximum resources must be concentrated to invest into infrastructure to meet grade-I urban standards in parallel with the development of the service industry, especially, entertainment services of eco-tourism and riverside picnics.

Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Secretary of the Thuan An city Party Committee, said that in the next term, the city will focus on exploiting the advantages and available potentials to develop services, making the service industry a driving force to promote the development of other manufacturing industries and in order to meet the needs of serving production, daily life and consumption and positively contribute to the economic restructuring and socio-economic development goals. In which, the city focuses on investment in construction and development of inland waterway port on Saigon River, creating a premise to attract investment and develop a riverside commercial and service city. In addition, the city also coordinated with Binh Duong provincial agriculture sector to organize the implementation of two projects to support economic development, including the development of specialty fruit trees associated with management and use of the collective brand of Lai Thieu mangosteen and the planting of trees to prevent landslide of embankments, canals and dykes in Thuan An city.

Talking to us, the leaders of Thuan An city also said that in the coming time, the locality will develop the city on the principle of creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the direction of sustainable development. In 2020-2025, the city will promote economic restructuring in the city, communes and wards towards industrialization and modernization; will attach importance to investment in building technical and social infrastructure; will enhance resilience to climate change. At the same time, Thuan An city prioritizes public investment capital to focus on implementing important projects that create a breakthrough and have great spread.
