Ba Lua Port construction to develop provincial waterway tourism

On August 3rd, PPC organized a meeting assess Ba Lua Port construction plan developed by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee cum Vice Chairman of PPC, chaired the meeting.

Ba Lua Port will be constructed on an area of 5.5 hectares with a total investment of VND55.5 billion from socialization capital source, and included functional areas: wharf, cultural parks, restaurants, commercial areas. The renovation and construction of Ba Lua Port is to develop tourism, connect waterway tourism to tourist attractions, historical sites located along the Saigon River, thereby contributing to provincial tourism development. At the meeting, leaders of agencies, sectors also contributed many ideas to complete the planning.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem agreed with the scale and works in the plan developed by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He also urged provincial Urban Development Planning Institute to review the plan to avoid affecting negatively other projects, and submit soon to PPC. After completing planning, PPC will select investors, invite eligible firms to join the project.
