Binh Duong always accompanies investors

Binh Duong province has respected contributions by enterprises from Taiwan (China) to the local socio-economic development over the past years. It is hoped that they will continue accompanying the province in socio-economic development in the coming time.

Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee made the statement at a meeting with Taiwanese investors yesterday morning, August 21. He said that Binh Duong now ranks second nationwide in FDI attraction after HCM city.

Opportunely removing enterprises’ queries

According to provincial People’s Committee, Binh Duong province over the past eight months absorbed more than US$1.94billion in FDI capital, surpassing 38.71% of the year’s plan. As of now, the whole province has had a total of valid 3,669 FDI projects with total registered capital of more than US$34.251billion. The above result came from great contributions by the business community, including Taiwanese enterprises.

Addressing the meeting, Mr.Dung wanted that HCM city-based Taipei Economic-Cultural Office and province-based Taiwan Business Association will further accompany the province in helping Taiwanese enterprises solve their obstacles in production and business. The province will also continue boosting administrative reform, creating the best conditions for investors.

In addition, the province will attach special importance to hi-quality services at enterprises’ demand for production-business and the local demand for industrial and urban development. The province will also further instruct sectors, authorities at all levels to maintain the local political security, social safety and order, helping enterprises feel secure to make investment herein. The province has made efforts in handling issues on traffic, workforce…at enterprises’ demand.

Chung Wen Cheng, Head of HCM city-based Taipei Economic-Cultural Office said that over the past time, the province created favorable conditions for Taiwanese enterprises to work. In the coming time, with free trade agreements between Vietnam and countries, especially the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Taiwanese enterprises will further make investment in the province. It is hoped that the local government and Taiwanese enterprises will continue joining hands to remove obstacles for better development.

Always supporting investors to observe regulations

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Phuoc Viet Dung, Head of provincial Department of Customs said that there is now a fierce trade war between America and China. Therefore, Taiwanese enterprises need to avoid trade fraud not to affect Vietnam’s economy. Provincial Department of Customs has always seen smuggling and trade fraud prevention as one of top tasks. From now to year-end, leaders of the unit will continue strengthening the fight against smuggling and trade fraud.

Whilst, Nguyen Minh Hai, Deputy Head of provincial Department of Tax also mentioned some issues on tax inspection at enterprises. It is known that provincial Department of Tax has strengthened activities on propagandizing, guiding enterprises about tax policies; received and answered enterprises’ queries by many forms…In the coming time, the sector wants that Taiwanese enterprises will continue well observing regulations on tax.

At the meeting, the local functional agencies also answered Taiwanese enterprises’ queries on equipment of on-site anti-fire equipment based on industries as stipulated; procedures to ensure the environment, supply of power at enterprises’ demand for production…
