Binh Duong always creates optimal conditions for investors

In the coming time, Binh Duong province will further mobilize all resources to build and perfect the local socio-economic infrastructure system while strengthening sci-tech application in order to deal with administrative procedures, creating the best conditions for enterprises to work. The province will also promote hi-quality services at the local requirements for industrial and urban development. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee made the statement at a meeting with Japanese investors held yesterday, October 15.

Enterprises with satisfaction

At the meeting, Kawaue Junichi, Japanese Consulate General in HCM city thanked provincial People’s Committee together with sectors, departments for their support for Japanese enterprises over the past time. Japan now takes lead among 64 countries and territories making investment in the province with valid 304 projects with total registered capital of more than US$5.65billion or 16.2% of the province’s total FDI capital. Okada Hideyuki, Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in HCM city said that such meetings were very necessary in order to opportunely remove enterprises’ obstacles as well as strengthening solidarity, trust between investors and the local administration. Binh Duong is a destination for Japanese enterprises because it is close to HCM city with port and airport. More importantly, the province’s infrastructure facilities are very good plus a favorable investment climate.

Addressing the meeting, Mr.Liem acknowledged contributions by enterprises, associations and the Japanese Consulate General in HCM city to the local socio-economic development. He wanted that Japanese investors will continue accompanying with the local authorities at all levels, opportunely put forth solutions to remove obstacles in production and business towards sustainable development.

Investors interested in smart city project

Mr.Okada Hideyuki said that Japanese enterprises have paid more attention to implementing a project on Binh Duong smart city development. This is seen as one of the province’s major elements in absorbing foreign enterprises in general and Japanese ones in particular. He also proposed that the province needs to perfect policies for investors, especially in technology application to solve procedures on tax, customs…

“Regularly organizing dialogues with investors is one of Binh Duong’s smart policies, so it needs to be maintained in the coming time. As a chairman of Japan Business Association in HCM city, I will make efforts in strengthening the linkage between the local administration and Japanese enterprises”, he added.

According to Atsusi Kitabayasi, General Director of Omron Healthcare Manufacturing Co.Ltd. in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park II, implementing Binh Duong smart city project over the past was one of the province’s great efforts. The project will create advantages for enterprises to work and help the province continue absorbing investment capital, hi-quality human resources…

Mr.Liem affirmed that the province’s strategies towards smart city development reached good results over the past time. Noticeably, the province officially joined in the World Technopolis Association and the International Community Forum. The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) also announced the list of 21 cities in the world which were voted as having exemplary strategies for smart city development. Binh Duong is the only city in Vietnam to have ever been voted among the so-called Smart21.

The province has focused on researching a plan on goods transportation by railway, implementing construction of a metro line to HCM city. In terms of waterway, the province has continued improving the local port system for goods transportation as planned. The province has also realized a program on innovating investment attraction for the 2016-2020 period with focus on absorbing great partners, corporations around the world; maintain traditional markets and expand the new ones.

In addition, the province has given priority to absorbing hi-tech projects with high added value and environmentally friendly investment without being labor-intensive; attached special importance to promoting auxiliary industries, taking part in the global value chain of multinational corporations…

The whole province has so far solicited valid 3,702 FDI projects totaling US$34.87billion. On average, each FDI project is worth around US$9.1million. Among these FDI projects, there are 2,323 invested in province-based industrial parks with total investment capital of US$22.7billion.
