Binh Duong – aspiration to rise

The Resolution of the 11th Binh Duong provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure set out the overall goal to 2025. Accordingly, the province promotes the renewal of economic growth model associated with environmental protection and implementation of strategic breakthroughs. It also ensures social security and welfare while constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people; while stabilizing political security, social order and safety; while strengthening external activities. It is striving to build Binh Duong province that is developed sustainably in the direction of a smart, civilized and modern city, by 2030, to become a modern industrial center and by 2045 to be a smart city of the region and the whole nation.

Concentration on synchronous and modern infrastructure

To accomplish the above goal, the provincial Party Committee will focus on implementing key tasks, in which, focus is on building synchronous infrastructure and sustainable urban development in the smart direction. Recently, talking to a reporter of Binh Duong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, said that with the aspiration to rise up, expressed through the strategic goals and tasks that have been set by the provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure, the province has high expectations for the development to the new heights.

Specifically, the province will build urban areas in the direction of green and sustainable cities with a synchronous, modern and environmentally-friendly technical infrastructure system; infrastructure investment and investment attraction are focused; importance is attached to ensuring connection and development support between the central urban system and the satellite urban system; resources from all economic sectors are mobilized to continue investing in synchronous development; modern transport infrastructure system, especially dynamic works, ensuring smooth connection within the province and among Binh Duong and other provinces and cities in the southern key economic region. At the same time, the province actively cooperates closely with localities in the region to deploy a synchronous and modern inter-regional transport system to create a new driving force for rapid and strong development in the coming time. These are projects such as renovation and expansion of National Highway 13, completion of My Phuoc - Tan Van, DT746, DT747B, DT743, Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang, bridges connecting Tay Ninh and Dong Nai provinces, Vanh Dai 3, Vanh Dai 4, Ho Chi Minh highway, etc.

Mr. Tran Van Nam shared, for the 2020-2025 term, the province would focus on the axis of breakthroughs in infrastructure, administrative reform, and application of science and technology. In 2021, Binh Duong will focus on implementing breakthroughs in infrastructure and administrative reform. Therefore, right from the beginning of the term, the province has focused on investing in the construction of main streets and highways such as the Ho Chi Minh city - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc expressway. During this term, if the province fulfills its goals, by the end of the term, Binh Duong will have a synchronous and connected traffic system. In addition, it is necessary to complete the waterway transport system and embark on the construction of the railway system to ensure a complete, synchronous and modern infrastructure system.

For people’s enjoyment

This is also the purpose that the province always clearly identifies in the process of socio-economic development. How to make people truly benefit from the achievements of development is a proposition that is always set to be resolved. Accordingly, in the new period, in order to ensure social security and create jobs, the province strives to maintain 100% of the families of people with meritorious services to the revolution with a standard of living equal to or higher than the average of the community; 100% of people with meritorious services to the revolution will have health monitoring records, periodical health checks, and detect health problems; the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction is well implemented with consideration for balancing the budget in order to develop a commensurate resource allocation; 100% of poor and near-poor households are to fully enjoy poverty reduction policies and access basic social services. The disadvantaged subjects with extremely difficult circumstances are taken care of and are entitled to social protection policies as prescribed. The province also creates favorable conditions for workers to access and own various types of housing to settle down and start a business; and at the same time, the quality of labor through training is improved and workers' lives are taken care of.

Talking about the above issue, Mr. Tran Van Nam said that during this term, the province would pay special attention to social security; the criteria of poor households are carefully reviewed to determine whether poor households are entitled to the benefits or not; the support models of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations are reviewed. All must be re-evaluated for the right substance to offer more basic care.

“In the past, Binh Duong focused on building social housing, in this term, in addition to social housing, it is necessary to focus on houses for rent so that we would no longer have sloppy accommodation. It is necessary to survey the reality of the hostels and to standardize the specifications upon the construction rate. Besides, localities must also have at least one swimming pool; the physical foundations, working and living conditions for the armed forces must be methodical and guaranteed.”

The ultimate purpose of development is for people to enjoy; enterprises must have development conditions commensurate with their contributions to the development of Binh Duong. “During this term, if we strive to well implement the set goals and tasks, Binh Duong will develop to new heights; at the same time, it would create a driving force for development for the next term," said Mr. Tran Van Nam.
