Binh Duong gets ready for Horasis meeting 2018

Following the success of the organization of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) summit 2018, Binh Duong will continue hosting the Horasis meeting 2018. The province has so far issued an overall plan on the organization of the meeting.

Linkage for common development

Horasis is an international investment promotion organization established in 2005 with the mission of connecting investors from multinational corporations around the world. Through direct dialogues, Horasis has created a platform that connects and helps local and multinational corporations in the world to seek out global partners, find solutions to the most important challenges for today's corporations, and predict international trends.

The Horasis meeting 2018 will take place at provincial Convention-Exhibition Center from November 25 to 27 with main events: plenary sessions and dialogues with the participation of the world’s top speakers. This is an opportunity for the province to popularize the local trademark to international partners. It also helps the province to get access to sci-tech advancements to improve management capacity, sci-tech development, contributing to developing the Binh Duong smart city project as well as introducing investment opportunities for foreign investors.

The meeting is also a chance for enterprises in the province to connect with high-ranking partners and CEOs of Asian and global companies, thereby promoting trade-investment cooperation between Vietnam, Asian and the world.

Opportunity for investment attraction

Over the past years, Binh Duong was among the country’s top three localities in investment attraction. According to a report by provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the province has so far absorbed more than 3,400 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than US$31.4billion.

To wait in front for the international integration trend, Binh Duong has focused on developing an industrial-service and urban complex with nearly 4,200 hectares, including 2,000 hectares for hi-tech industrial parks, 900 hectares for hi-class service areas and 1,000 hectares for urban-residential areas…The highlight of the complex is Binh Duong New city of 1,000 hectares, which is considered as a political-economic and cultural hub of the province. Hence, building Binh Duong New city is implemented towards not only connecting with localities in the province, but also creating favorable linkage in terms of technical-economic infrastructure facilities with neighboring localities in the southern key economic zone.

Especially, among Binh Duong New City’s architectural works, provincial Integrated Administration Center is one of the country’s most administration centers. It not only meets the local Party, government and people’s aspirations and needs, but also is a breakthrough in forming up a modern, flexible new city at the local requirements in the renewal and integration cause. The birth of Binh Duong New City not only promotes the local industrial-service and urban development process, but also opens up a new period in socio-economic development, soon turning Binh Duong into a modern and smart city.

Good preparation

According to the organizing board of the Horasis meeting 2018, preparatory work for the event has so far taken place on schedule.

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee asked for sub-committees to be proactive to assign members tasks of implementing the meeting. Member sectors, departments of the organizing board need to be proactive to exchange with relevant sub-committees, regularly report on the situation of realizing entrusted tasks and opportunely put forward petitions for consideration and solution from provincial People’s Committee.

He also emphasized that this is an important international event with influence on the development of Binh Duong, so relevant units need to well realize entrusted tasks.
