Binh Duong performs well reforms in wage, social insurance and benefits for revolutionary contributors

Morning October 19, a delegation, which was led by Le Vinh Tan - Minister of Internal Affairs, of the Central Steering Committee for policy reform on wage, social insurance and benefits for people credited with revolutionary contributions, had a meeting with Binh Duong province. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee, received and worked with the delegation.

Implementing the salary reform of the Government since 2004, Binh Duong has 10 times adjusted the regional minimum wage. In addition, all enterprises in the province adjusted their wages to equal or exceed the regional minimum wage.

In the first 6 months of 2017, the number of people participating in social insurance reached 58.2% of the labor force. The total number of social insurance contributions was over VND6,451 billion, and over VND1,958 billion was spent on benefits for sickness, maternity, labor accidents, occupational diseases, unemployment insurance ... Regarding revolutionary contributors, the province approved, recognized and resolved 9,060 new records; fully and timely made payment of preferential policies for 8,564 persons with a total of over VND13.4 billion. In addition, revolutionary contributors also received health insurance card, periodical health care; built 236 houses of gratitude and repaired 825 houses in 5 years (2012-2017); searched and gathered martyr’s remains and renovated martyrs' cemeteries...

At the meeting, the delegation appreciated Binh Duong’s practical works related to reform in wage, social insurance and benefits for revolutionary contributors. The delegation also noted the difficulties and recommendations of the province to devise solutions in the shortest time.

Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee, suggested Ministry of Internal Affairs should consider payroll supplement for newly separated districts of the province. Binh Duong is an industrial development province, attracting many migrant workers; thus the province has directed departments, levels, and enterprises to pay attention to life, salary and policies for workers. Large number of worker causes difficulties to social insurance sector in the management of insurance books, settlement of the regime. At the meeting, Binh Duong province proposed Vietnam social insurance considered payroll supplement for provincial social insurance; The province also has its own policies in terms of revolutionary contributors in order to ensure these subjects’ living standards to be higher than the average living standards of local residential areas.
