Provincial Youth Union has just organized a ceremony to launch the 2020 summer youth volunteer campaign under the theme of “Binh Duong’s youths are creative, voluntary for the community”. Accordingly, numerous Youth Union members across the province have actively got involved in practical activities for the sake of the community.

At the ceremony, provincial Youth Union set up provincial Steering Board for the 2020 summer youth volunteer campaign and 10 youth volunteer squads. Provincial Youth Union also implemented many youth works, including upgrading 1 km of rural road; constructing youth roads; offering 5 health insurance cards to workers with difficult circumstances; awarding scholarships to 2 needy pupils; giving a recreational area made by recycled materials for ethnic minority children; donating “dream” rooms to young workers with difficult circumstances…

In addition, provincial Youth Union held a program guiding how to drive safety for Youth Union members; provided free medical check-up, medicine for 100 people; visited and gave healthcare for 6 heroic Vietnamese mothers in Phu Giao district. On this occasion, provincial Young Pioneer Organization handed over a “red tie” house to an unprivileged child in Phu Giao district’s An Thai commune.

Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that this year’s summer youth volunteer campaign includes a “giving strength to examination season” program and campaigns, namely “Green summer”, “Journey of Binh Duong’s youths for national sea and islands”, “Red flamboyant”, “Pink vacation” and “Green operation”. The campaign is implemented in association with political tasks, real needs of each locality and unit. Provincial Youth Unions at all levels will give priority to carrying out on-site works with the participation of numerous Youth Union members in celebration of the 11^th provincial Party congress.

This year’s summer youth volunteer campaign will further uphold the voluntary spirit of the local youngsters in promoting socio-economic development, building civilized urban and new-style rural areas, ensuring social welfare, national defence-security, especially in remote regions. Provincial Youth Unions at all levels have responded to the campaign by many practical activities. They will also continue organizing many volunteer activities in remote and mountainous, border and island regions. Particularly, provincial Youth Federation and Student Association organized 2 volunteer programs in Phu Quy island district in the central province of Binh Thuan and Tho Chu island in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang; coordinated with relevant units to organize volunteer activities in Laos’Champasak province and Cambodia’s Kampong Thom province.

During the 2020 summer volunteer campaign, provincial Youth Union has set some concrete targets, including upgrading and building 25 km of rural road; carrying out youth works in 10 streets and alleys in urban areas with “light-green-clean-civilized and safe” criteria; providing free medical check-up and medicine for 2,500 people; constructing 3 charity, gratitude houses; offering help to 500 children with difficult circumstances; building 20 recreational areas for children; mobilizing Youth Union members to put forward 1,500 ideas, initiatives; organizing startup training courses for 400 youths; holding training courses, making sci-tech transfer for 250 youths…
