The Medicine Administration of Vietnam under Ministry of Health has issued an official letter allowing the Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (CPC1) to import BAT medicines for emergency, anti-poisoning and treatment of Botulinum poisoning patients and to meet the special treatment needs of Cho Ray Hospital. For those BAT medicines that have been licensed for import and in case the importer or medicine application establishment wishes to sell or transfer the imported drugs to other medical examination and treatment establishments procedures could be followed by Point b, Clause 3, Article 78 of Decree No. 54/2017/ND-CP.

In order to ensure the timely provision for Botulinum poisoning patients, Binh Duong provincial Department of Health has requested medical examination and treatment establishments having hospital beds under Department of Health to actively purchase medicines to treat Botulinum poisoning. In case of poisoning, medicines would be available for treatment to prevent shortages. On determining the needs, the establishments should urgently contact Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company or other importers to prepare dossiers of application for import of Botulinum anti-toxin according to the regulations.
