Bound for a smart, civilized and modern city

Provincial People's Committee has just proposed a roadmap for the local urban classification in the periods of 2021-2025 and 2026-2030 to the Ministry of Construction. Accordingly, the province's urban development goal is to strive to sustainably develop Binh Duong towards a smart, civilized and modern city. By 2030, Binh Duong will become a modern industrial hub, and by 2045, a smart city of the region and the whole country.

Regarding Thu Dau Mot city, under the province’s overall plan on urban development approved, there is 1 new district in provincial industrial - service - urban complex in the period of 2016-2020. But now, the separation of administrative units is very difficult, due to new regulations on separation of administrative units. Therefore, Thu Dau Mot is still a first-class city in the period of 2020-2030.

In the period of 2021-2015, Di An and Thuan An cities will carry out procedures to upgrade them into the second-class ones.

Provincial People's Committee has also approved the adjustment of the overall urban development plans for Tan Uyen and Ben Cat towns until 2040. In the period of 2021 - 2025, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat will carry out procedures to upgrade them into the second-class cities.
