“Joyful market-days of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” organized by the Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information under provincial Department of Industry and Trade have received enthusiastic response from people from all strata, significantly contributing to the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

Each market-day absorbed the participation of 10-12 businesses with 30-45 booths. The total revenue of the market-days was estimated at nearly VND2billion. At each market-day, the center also mobilized participating businesses to donate 20 gifts to needy people.

According to Pham Thanh Dung, Director of provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information, bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas is one of highlights of the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”. It has not only created interaction between businesses and locals, but also strong change in awareness of customers, contributing to changing their habit toward giving priority to purchasing Vietnamese goods. Rural people also have a chance to buy hi-quality Vietnamese goods with clean origin and reasonable price.

Vietnamese goods promoted

Along with good results, the province’s joyful market-days of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural have still faced shortcomings for change.

Mr.Dung said that the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” needs to have a long strategy in order to create wide and deep pervasion in the society. Vietnamese businesses also need to promote their brand names, step by step dominating the domestic market sustainably.

In addition, the State needs to increase expenditure for organizing trade promotion activities and supporting businesses that take part in the program of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas; tighten control over the market, prevent activities producing fake and poor-quality goods…
