Businesses join hands in Covid-10 prevention

Possibly speaking, the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has caused great impacts on economy. Businesses in the whole country in general and in Binh Duong in particular have made certain changes in their development strategies in order to surmount common difficulties at present. Although facing obstacles, province-based businesses have joined hands with the local administration in prevention and control of Covid-19 with complicated development.

On April 1, Thanh Le General Export-Import Trading Corporation decided to support 20,000 liters of petrol for the local Covid-19 prevention. Doan Minh Quang, General Director of the corporation hoped that with such small donation, his corporation will join hands with businesses, people and functional agencies in the province to well realize Covid-19 prevention and control.

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that all the above fuel amount will be distributed to districts, towns and cities for Covid-19 prevention and control. “Provincial People’s Committee has spoken highly of contributions by businesses, donors and people from all strata to the local Covid-19 prevention and control. As of now, through the appeal of the province, many businesses have made contributions to the local Covid-19 fight, especially since the province has begun receiving more isolated cases from foreign countries. I believe that with the solidarity of the entire political system plus active support from businesses and people from all strata, the province will get more important contributions to the local Covid-19 fight”, he added.

Prior to that, a delegation of Binh Duong Power Company, led by Le Minh Quoc Viet, Secretary of the company’s Party Committee donated more than VND384million from the company’s staff to provincial Fatherland Front Committee in order to support Covid-19 prevention, control and people hit by drought and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta region.

At the event, Huynh Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health, Deputy Head of provincial Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control thanked the company’s staff for their support while believing that sharing efforts from businesses will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the local Covid-19 prevention and control.

In response to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee’s appeal for all people’s contributions to the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control, members of provincial Association for Women Entrepreneurs donated VND305million and some medical supplies, including 25,000 medical masks, 300 cloth masks, 9,200 tables of Vitamin C and 192 hand sanitizer bottles, worth more than VND112million to the local administration for the fight against Covid-19.

Whilst, Becamex IDC, on March 24, offered VND2billion to representative of provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) in order to support the local Covid-19 prevention, control and people hit by drought, saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta region. Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC said that over the past 20 years, the corporation actively responded the local socialization policy in many aspects from health, education, culture-sports…The above donation also aimed to contributing to the local socio-economic development.

According to Tran Thu Kim Lan, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial FFC, as of April 2, provincial FFC received more than VND4.2 billion, medical supplies and necessary commodities worth more than VND2.5billion, including 122,000 medical masks, 20,300 antibacterial masks, 32,000 medical gloves, 21,200 protective suits, 100 thermometers, 15 tons of rice, 275 boxes of instant noodle…from agencies, businesses, organizations and individuals for Covid-19 prevention and control. The province also spent more than VND1.5billion from the local Relief Fund on buying medical supplies for Covid-19 prevention and control under the suggestion of provincial Department of Health.
