Central tourism promoted in Singapore

Tourism products of Thua Thien-Hue province, Da Nang city and Quang Nam province in Vietnam’s central region were introduced in Singapore on October 15 under a programme on tourism connectivity between the three localities.

The event saw the participation of representatives of nearly 90 travel companies and news agencies in Singapore.

The three localities have joined hands to launch tourism products, focusing on heritage, luxury marine tourism and eco and community-based tourism.

In the first nine months of this year, the provinces welcomed about 16.8 million tourists, including 7.8 million foreigners, statistics revealed.

Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, said Singapore is a potential market. Currently, there are many Singaporean travel companies as well as foreign tourism firms in the country operating tours to Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam.

It is noteworthy that Singaporean investors have invested in golf courses, resorts and other tourism and trade serve projects in the localities, he said./.
