Dau Tieng district guarantees food safety and hygiene during Tet holidays

Dr. Huynh Le Khang, Deputy Head of Dau Tieng Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, said to ensure food safety and hygiene for people during Lunar New Year 2019, the unit cooperated with functional agencies to enhance inspection and control of transport, slaughtering and trading of cattle and poultry meat. In addition to the four fixed animal quarantine posts at gateways of the district, the unit also collaborated with People's Committees of communes and towns to perform well the inspection and administer slaughter houses of cattle and poultry in the area; strictly handle violations, such as illegal slaughtering, injecting water, impurities and tranquilizers into pigs...

At present, Dau Tieng district has 205 cattle and poultry farms with a total of 125,340 cattle heads and 2.757 million poultry heads. In the past year, the district did not have any disease on cattle, poultry and aquatic products. The District People's Committee instructed the veterinary units to vaccinate 27,425 doses of foot and mouth for cattle (104% of the plan) and 1,037,835 doses of H5N1 for poultry (117% of the plan). Local authorities also regularly examined transport, slaughtering and trading activities; detected and sanctioned 3 administrative violations.
