Di An gets animated with summer youth volunteer activities

Under the summer youth volunteer campaign 2018, Youth Union members, pupils and students have continued upholding their volunteer spirit via many significant activities, contributing to the local development.

Di An town’s Youth Union has just held a ceremony to launch the summer youth volunteer campaign 2018, with the participation of more than 400 Youth Union members, students and pupils.

At the ceremony, the town’s Youth Union set up 9 volunteer youth squads on environmental protection, social welfare…; carried out a “giving strength to exam season” program with 20 gifts worth VND500,000 each offered to pupils and Youth Union members with difficult circumstances…The local Youth Union members also cleaned up areas around Di An high school.

Pham Chien Thang, Vice-Secretary of Di An town’s Youth Union said: “During the summer youth volunteer campaign 2018, all Youth Union branches of the wards in the town will coordinate with units and armed forces to get involved in carrying out urban rejuvenation, clearing canals, upgrading streets; organize programs for children and volunteer activities for the sake of the community. The town’s Youth Union will support “lighting rural road” works in Dau Tieng district, donate a “red scraf” house worth VND50million; establish a youth model lodging facility; provide free medical check-up and medicine for 500 people; organize 2 programs on legal consultancy for young workers; organize a charitable program in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang and carry out 2 programs exchanging waste for gifts…”.

The Youth Federation of An Binh ward in the town has also just launched the summer youth volunteer campaign 2018 by a journey “connecting young workers”. During the journey, officials, members of the ward’s Youth Federation and young workers had a chance to visit the Army Corps 4’s Museum to learn about the local history, people and army’s glorious feats of arms.

On this occasion, the ward’s Youth Federation also offered 2 gifts to young workers with difficult circumstances; organized an exchange program, creating coherence among members, officials and young workers; held delegations to visit and present gifts to lonely elderly people in Binh Duong 1 quarter…

Not only at ward level, Youth Union branches at all levels of the town have also actively implemented this year’s youth volunteer activities. For example, the Youth Union branch of the town’s Land Fund Development Center took part in removing illegal advertising boards on Nguyen An Ninh street, contributing to making the town’s environment get greener, cleaner and nicer…
