Di An’s Youth Union actively gets involved in movement defending nation

Over the past five years, Di An town’s Youth Unions at all levels actively realized the movement of “Youths voluntarily defending the nation” by many practical activities.

One of their highlights in the movement was to be proactive to disseminate the Law on Military Service. Over the past time, they also visited and offered gifts worth around VND70million to recruits with difficult circumstances under the program of “Sentimental rear”; donated 125 books on life skills together with gifts worth VND75million to recruits…, contributing to encouraging them to well fulfill their military service.

In addition, the town’s Youth Union coordinated with sectors, departments to offer help to the families of demobees with difficult circumstances; give vocational training and introduce jobs to demobees; build a crucial force in the movement of defending the nation among demobees…

Implementing the campaign of “Sentiment to border areas and remote islands”, the town’s Youth Union visited and donated gifts to soldiers at Dac Ka border post in Binh Phuoc province; visited and offered gifts worth more than VND400million to children in Lao Cai, Long An provinces and town-based army forces. The town’s Youth Union and its branches also well realized “paying debt of gratitude” activities, including making installation of solar-powered lights at the town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery, giving 125 gifts for heroic Vietnamese mothers, offering 250 gifts and upgrading 5 gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families.

Pham Chien Thang, Secretary of the town’s Youth Union said that in order to continue well realizing the movement of “Youths voluntarily defending the nation”, the town’s Youth Union has built a model on crime prevention among youths at lodging facilities; boosted coordination with town-based army forces to set up propaganda solutions on national defence and security among youths…

Also according to Mr.Thang, in July, the town’s Youth Union will concentrate on organizing many activities to take care of policy beneficiary families; visit and encourage the families of soldiers being on duty on islands. The town’s Youth Union will also hold a program lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on July 26; kick off a journey following the footsteps of heroes; mobilize organizations and individuals to upgrade gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families; provide free medical check-up and medicine for heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiaries….
