Lighting Laboratory is a cooperation project between Becamex IDC, EIU and Philips Lighting (the Netherlands). This is considered as the premise laboratory in the plan to build Binh Duong smart city. The Lighting Lab will be used for teaching subjects related to lighting techniques for EIU students, enabling them to access, grasp and practice the modern lighting technologies of Philips.

In addition, students will also have access to Philips 'experiences from Philips' actual projects in Vietnam. These experiences will help students quickly access the real work environment. In addition, Lighting lab is also a destination for businesses that have the need for research on lighting science and technology; a place for advanced training for engineers from businesses, universities and other agencies, who need to gain the best knowledge and skills in lighting techniques to best use of flexible lighting, reduce the cost of industrial production, and to meet the needs of the modern market and society.

Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Rector of EIU, said that this was the first lab of EIU in the plan to build Tech labs, Living labs within the scheme of Binh Duong smart city. These laboratories combine with Fab labs and EIU Business Startup Center to form a start-up eco-system not only for students, EIU trainers, but also for Binh Duong community.
