Ecotourism potential awoken up

With natural advantages, Tan Uyen town has promoted ecotourism in association with the local cultural-historical relic system and tourism products.

Upholding advantages

Tan Uyen town where Dong Nai river runs through has a lot of landscapes in line with ecotourism development. Bach Dang isle is well-known with special pomelo. Or, Thanh Hoi isle is recognized as a national-level archaeological relic together with hi-tech agricultural models…All are seen as favorable conditions for the local experience tourism. In addition, the town is now home to 10 national and provincial-level cultural-historical relics, absorbing around 20,000 visitors every year.

Duong Van Minh introduces pomelo growing techniques on Bach Dang land to visitors

Under the province’s tourism development plan to 2020 and vision to 2030, Tan Uyen town is selected as a place for ecotourism on Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi isles. Accordingly, the town has focused on hi-tech agricultural models in association with ecotourism in Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi communes.

Nguyen Thi Kim Nguyen, Vice-Chairwoman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee said that the town’s plan on tourism development for the 2018-2020 period has been realized on existing advantages. Accordingly, the town’s People’s Committee has instructed relevant units to introduce the local agricultural products at resorts while connecting tours along Dong Nai river with tourism sites like pomelo orchards, cultural-historical relics…

The town has also advocated Bach Dang commune to tap the local advantages for green tourism; supported farmers to popularize their agricultural products and approach tourism development markets; maintained “Don ca tai tu” (southern folk music) clubs for tourism development…

Calling for investment

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee said that the town has always realized the importance of investment attraction and long-term investment maintenance in tourism development. Therefore, the town attached special importance to luring and keeping investors in the local tourism development over the past time. The town will also continue calling on investors in developing the local hotel system together with entertainment services for a large number of tourists. In addition, the town will further make socialization for investment of traffic infrastructure facilities, parking lots, restaurants with the local specialties…

To well carry out the above-mentioned tasks, the town has put focus on linking the local tourism products. Accordingly, the town has connected travel units, resorts, tours along Dong Nai river, cultural-historical relics, pagodas…for better tourism development. The town will also strengthen dissemination of information about the effectiveness of the local tourism development; further popularize the local tourism; coordinate with functional agencies to design the local tours…

As of late 2019, the town organized its first pilot tour taking many delegations to Vinh Loi war zone in Vinh Tan commune, Do Cao Thua ancient house in Bach Dang commune’s Binh Hung hamlet, Duong Van Minh’s pomelo orchard in Bach Dang commune’s Dieu Hoa hamlet, Tan Trach communal house in Bach Dang commune’s Tan Trach hamlet. Finally, they went to a restaurant along Dong Nai riverside for lunching and enjoying “Don ca tai tu” exchanges.

As planned, the town will strive to welcome around 1,000-1,200 tourists in 2020. The town will also select and support some households getting involved in tourism development. The town is making a survey on building piers in localities along Dong Nai riverside and rest stops, thereby promoting the local tourism sector.
