Lunar New Year 2020 is coming closer, Market management authorities in the province has been simultaneously assigned teams to prevent dirty and low-quality foods from entering the market on occasion of Tet holiday. Food safety is always a matter of concern to consumers

-What is Provincial Market Management Department's plan for strengthening food safety inspection and supervision on Lunar New Year 2020? Additionally, how is communication carried out for business, production establishments to seriously abide by instead of coping with?

- During Lunar New Year 2020, Provincial Market Management Department built many plan and programs to strengthen the inspection and supervision of food safety in the area. In particular, the department issued a thematic inspection plan for food safety, and assigned teams to perform and report. In addition, the department issued a plan to monitor food safety in the area. Besides, as a member of provincial Steering committee for Food safety, the department joined inspection delegations at supermarkets, food processing and production facilities. The department also directed to increase unscheduled checks of markets, business establishments, food processing facilities.

The communication on food safety to manufacturers, processing and consumers through mass media has also proved its effectiveness. Inspections of market management has created consensus in public opinion; heightened food production businesses' awareness of law compliance and consumers' consciousness of self-protection.

- How is the inspection procedure done to avoid affecting the production and business activities of organizations and individuals, especially during Lunar New Year? Each specific subject must ensure what standards, sir?

- The inspection of business organizations or individuals must strictly comply with law provisions. The procedure must ensure that it does not affect lawful business activities of individuals and organizations. The handling of violations must ensure compliance with regulations, protect the legitimate interests of organizations, individuals, consumers and the whole society. Provincial Market Management Department cooperated closely and synergistically with functional agencies in the inspection and control at all levels, avoiding overlapping affecting the production and business activities of organizations and individuals.

Dood production and processing establishments must show their business registration certificates and food safety eligibility certificates, self-declaration dossier for products, product labels, and food safety assurance conditions, equipment, tools, people, origins of raw materials, food additives, samples of food safety testing as required (when necessary).

- After inspection, how do you assess food market serving the Lunar New Year 2020 in the province?

In general, after a period of speeding up inspection, supervision of food safety for the upcoming Tet holiday, provincial Market Management Department has not detected any serious cases in the area. This proves that food safety has been under well control. Production and business activities of organizations and individuals have gradually gone into good order. And above all, consumers have chosen, purchased qualified products, paid attention to the shelf life and origin of goods.
