Update: 19-02-2021 | 12:07:41

In order to effectively prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, the provincial health sector is currently coordinating with the local forces that "walk to every corner to knock on every door" to review all people going back from epidemic areas to call for health declaration. In particular, in recent days, the health sector has actively monitored people returning from epidemic areas of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh city.

Officials and police force of Phu Tan ward in Thu Dau Mot city come to every door to propagate the 5K conduct and investigation of clinical history

To every corner and knock on every door

Receiving information in Di An ward of Di An city that someone returned from the epidemic area of Hai Duong and Quang Ninh, the team got right away to Truong Minh Luan’s residence for investigation. Following the team, we found Luan's house. The verification and investigation revealed that Luan and 2 family members had just returned from Quang Ninh. The family members' health was normal with no signs of cough, fever, or shortness of breath. In order to proactively prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the team members asked Luan's family to strictly comply with the recommendations of Ministry of Health and to isolate themselves at home with close watch of their health and limit their contact with people around. They should also measure body temperature twice a day and report the results to ward health workers. Currently, Luan's family has completed the 14-day quarantine as prescribed.

Phan Chanh Tin, Head of the Executive Board of Binh Minh 2 Quarter in Di An ward of Di An city said that to implement the direction of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Control in Di An ward, during the time, the forces of the locality continuously came down to each group and knock on every door to get information about the situation of people returning from provinces to localities for health monitoring and disease prevention and control. “In the spirit that if one person is sick, the whole neighborhood is isolated against possible infection, so the organizations in the neighborhood always give prominence to disease prevention and control and discover people returning from epidemic zones. Regardless of day or night, on receiving information, the members must immediately verify and report in detail to the ward steering committee,” said Tin.

By our investigation, the provincial health sector and the related forces are promoting the investigation and verification of people coming to Covid-19 infected locations reported by the Ministry of Health or foreigners and Vietnamese people in countries with outbreaks getting back to Binh Duong. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of Binh Duong provincial Department of Health, said that along with epidemic prevention and control activities, the health sector is paying special attention to monitoring of people returning from epidemic areas, especially from Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh city. This stage of monitoring is to promptly detect suspicious cases to localize and handle all the situations well. Currently, the health sector is still actively coordinating with relevant units to investigate epidemiology and take samples to conduct tests on suspected cases and cases exposed to positive cases detected in Vietnam to proactively conduct zoning and controlling infections.

To promote the role of front committees and unions

In recent days, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front at all levels and mass organizations are stepping up the communication, propaganda and mobilization of the people to strictly implement the 5K message of the Ministry of Health. In Phu Giao district, local front committee and mass organizations have gone to every door for information and for distributing leaflets to propagate about disease prevention and control. In addition to distribution of leaflets, the communicators also instructed and called upon people to actively take measures to prevent and control the epidemic and to stay alerted without panic nor fear that could lead to speculation and hoarding of goods of essentials.

In particular, in order to strengthen measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, authorities of districts, towns and cities have directed their forces at communes, wards and towns to immediately set up groups of "Monitoring and propagating for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control in the community ”in all residential areas. Accordingly, members of each group are team officials, neighborhoods, socio-political organizations, unions and volunteers in residential areas. Every day, team members are tasked with knocking every door to check for each person against the epidemic prevention and control measures. Team members will monitor, detect and immediately report to the local authorities and the commune health unit any suspected cases coming from the epidemic area for epidemiological investigation, quarantine, and sampling of specimens in time. Besides, the groups are also responsible for detecting cases of not voluntarily reporting and not complying with the isolation regulations to report to the communal steering committee and competent units.
