Expectation for new development raised at the first session of the 10th tenure Binh Duong provincial People’s Council

On July 6, the first session of the 10^th tenure provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure officially opens. At the meeting, the Election Commission of the province reported the results of the election of delegates to the provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure. The meeting will also conduct the election of key positions of the People's Council and People's Committee of the new term.

At pre-election meetings with voters, most voters agreed, believed, and highly appreciated the candidates’ qualifications, practical capacity, moral and political qualities, and the standards of People's Council deputies.

Talking to a reporter of Binh Duong Newspaper, Standing provincial People's Council, said that in the first meeting of the 10^th provincial People's Council will report the results of the election of delegates to the 10^th Provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure; report on the results of certifying the status of members of the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure; the certificates of deputies to the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure are awarded. In order to prepare well for the meeting, the Standing Committee of the provincial People's Council and the provincial People's Committee have coordinated to carefully prepare the contents to be submitted to the meeting such as reports on the introduction of personnel to elect key positions of the People's Council; heads, deputy heads of committees of the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure; the submissions on the introduction of personnel to elect the positions of chairman and deputy chairmen of the provincial People's Committee, member of the 10^th provincial People's Committee of 2021-2026 tenure; the reports on the introduction of personnel to elect judges of the provincial People's Court for the 2021-2026 tenure; and the number of members of the committees of the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure.

The preparation of key personnel of the People's Council and the provincial People's Committee must comply with the process and regulations of the central government and the province. In order to prepare for the meeting, in the past few days, the Standing Committee of the provincial People's Council has directed the specialized divisions to be ready and thoughtful for the election of positions under the decision-making authority of the provincial People's Council; to direct the committees of the People's Council, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the provincial People's Council to carefully prepare the contents to be submitted to the first session of the 10^th provincial People's Council and other professional activities related to ensuring food safety and hygiene and especially to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic at the first meeting of the 100^th provincial People's Council.

At the first meeting of the 10^th provincial People's Council, the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee will present a report summarizing voters' opinions in meetings with the candidates for the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure. According to the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, from May 6 to 16, the Standing Board of the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee chaired and coordinated to organize for candidates for the 15^t^h National Assembly Delegation and candidates for deputies of the 10^th provincial People's Council of 2021-2026 tenure, met and interacted with voters to campaign for the election at 56 locations with 4,902 voters from 91 communes, wards and townships and 5 special units in the armed forces. Through meeting and contacting voters, there were 196 turns of voters giving speeches and conveying their beliefs, expectations through their thoughts and aspirations to the candidates. Most of the voters agreed, believed, and highly appreciated the qualifications, practical capacity, moral and political qualities and the standards of People's Council deputies of the candidates; at the same time, they highly appreciated the action plan of the candidates presented at the conference for demonstrating the sense of responsibility of cadres, Party members and people's representatives.

Besides, voters also expected that those who are elected or not elected must also perform well the duties of cadres and Party members in terms of exemplary civic responsibility and more attention to people's lives, special attention to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, social security issues, improvement and development of transport infrastructure, environmental protection, urban embellishment, and anti-corruption.

Voters also expected that in the new term, the provincial People's Council would continue to make many important contributions to bring Binh Duong to new heights; at the same time, it is expected that delegates must keep their promises to voters and people and strictly implement the set action plan, maintain contact with voters, spend time in contact with voters in accordance with regulations, regularly and promptly listen to the thoughts, legitimate aspirations and pressing concerns of voters and people to report to the branches at all levels, to supervise the handling of the opinions and recommendations of voters by the competent authorities. Voters suggested that in the middle of the term of operations of the People's Council, delegates must report to voters on what they have done and implemented, especially with regard to the action plans presented to the electorate.
