First meeting of 10th provincial People's Council for 2021-2026 tenure: Consolidating key personnel of provincial People's Council, People's Committee

*Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission elected as Chairman of the 10th provincial People's Council.

The 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure officially convened its first session yesterday morning (July 6). Attending the meeting were Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the 9^th provincial People's Council; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the 9^th provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, sectors and 69 out of 70 deputies of the 10^th provincial People's Council.

After an urgent and serious working session with the spirit of democracy and high responsibility, the first meeting of the 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure completed its set contents and programs. At the meeting, provincial People's Council heard provincial Election Committee’s report on the results of the election of deputies to provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure and report on the results of confirming the 70 elected deputies in the May 23 election to be qualified as members of the 10^th provincial People's Council. Among the 70 deputies, there were 35 re-elected deputies, 35 deputies joining provincial People's Council for the first time, and 13 young deputies.

With the spirit of democracy, fairness and high responsibility to voters and people in the province, at the meeting, deputies of provincial People's Council elected Chairman of provincial People's Council, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Council, Heads and Deputy Heads of the departments of provincial People’s Council and approved the number of members of the departments of provincial People's Council while electing the Juror of provincial People's Court for the 2021-2026 tenure. The election of the above titles was conducted democratically in accordance with the order, procedures and principles as prescribed with a concentrated number of votes and a high percentage, demonstrating the trust of provincial People's Council deputies for those elected to hold important positions in the government apparatus of the province. This is a very important and meaningful decision throughout the term of organization and operation of provincial People's Council and People's Committee. At the meeting, Chairman of provincial People's Council and Chairman of provincial People's Council of the new term gave speeches, showing their determination and high responsibility when taking the responsibilities and tasks assigned by voters and people through deputies of provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the meeting, Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the 10^th provincial People's Council said that provincial People's Council believes that those who are elected to the above positions will unite and uphold their sense of responsibility and capacity at the highest level; regularly practise morals; be exemplary in life and work; be close to localities and grassroots, listen to the opinions of people from all strata; be flexible, sensitive, dare to think, know how to do and be creative on the basis of ensuring principles in direction and administration, excellently fulfilling assigned responsibilities and tasks, deserving of the trust of People's Council deputies, voters and people in the province.

At the meeting, provincial People's Council acknowledged voters' opinions at the meetings with candidates of the 10^th provincial People's Council. After the meeting, provincial People's Council asked for provincial People's Committee to direct and focus on solving legitimate proposals by voters and people while suggesting them to more closely monitor the activities of provincial People's Council, People's Committee, law enforcement agencies, departments, sectors and State agencies, contributing to building up a stronger and stronger government.

*Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the 10^th provincial People's Committee: "...With the responsibility of being the head of provincial People's Committee, I will make efforts, continue learning in a respectful way, try my best and quickly approach new tasks, inherit valuable achievements and experience from predecessors; vow to bring all my abilities, wisdom and enthusiasm in joining hands with provincial People's Committee to build up a stronger, more effective and efficient government system from provincial to grassroots levels. ..

In the face of new requirements from reality and in order to fulfill socio-economic development goals under to the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress and resolutions of provincial People's Council in the period of 2021-2026, especially maintain the development, position and brand of Binh Duong in the context of having many opportunities, but also many challenges, especially amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic, in order to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements set forth, provincial People's Committee and I will continue uniting, being determined to overcome difficulties. I look forward to further receiving the attention and instruction of the Government, provincial Party Standing Committee; the regular supervision, coordination and support of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation, People's Council, deputies of provincial People's Council and voters in the province; the sharing, encouragement of provincial leaders over periods; the effective coordination of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, provincial People's Procuracy and Court…”.

*Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the 10^th provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure: “...In the face of requirements of the new situation, in the context of advantages together with  challenges, especially amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic in the first 6 months of 2021…, in order to fulfill 2021’s plan on socio-economic development, national defense and security as a premise for the effective implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the five-year period from 2021 to 2025, the 10^th provincial People's Council needs to study, consider and decide appropriate policies, solutions with high feasibility to mobilize all resources for socio-economic development tasks, in association with seriously realizing urgent measures to effectively prevent and control Covid-19 pandemic.

Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission was elected as Chairman of the 10^th provincial People's Council for the  2021-2026 tenure. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of the 9^th provincial People's Council was re-elected as Vice-Chairwoman of the 10^th provincial People's Council cum Head of the 10th provincial People's Council’s Legal Department. Tran Thi Minh Hanh, Head of the 9^th provincial People's Council’s Legal Department was elected as Head of the 10^th Provincial People's Council’s Economics - Budget Department.  Le Anh Tuan was  re-elected as Deputy Head of the 10th provincial People's Council’s Economics - Budget Department. Trinh Duc Tai, Head of the 9^th provincial People's Council’s Department for Cultural-Social Affairs was re-elected as Head of the 10th provincial People's Council’s Department for Cultural and Social Affairs. Nguyen Thi Thao Nguyen was elected as Deputy Head of the 10^th  provincial People's Council’s Department for Cultural and Social Affairs.

The meeting also elected the titles of Chairman, Vice-Chairpersons of provincial People's Committee, members of provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure. Accordingly, with high confidence, Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the 9^th provincial People's Council was elected as Chairman of the 10^th provincial People's Committee. Mai Hung Dung, Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice-Chairpersons of provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 tenure continued being elected as Vice-Chairpersons of the 10^th provincial People's Committee. In addition, the meeting elected 17 members of the 10^th provincial People's Committee and members of provincial People's Court for the 2021-2026 tenure.
