For all children enjoying a significant mid-autumn festival

Provincial leaders have instructed sectors, departments and localities in the province to organize many significant activities celeberating this year’s mid-autumn festival for children. For greater concern, Binh Duong Daily has just had an interview with Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Vice-Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA).

-What has the local sector of labor, war invalids and social affairs planned to organize activities in celebration of this year’s mid-autumn festival for children?

Right from early this year, the sector has made a plan on the organization of this year’s mid-autumn festival for children with joyful and warm activities such as art performances, folk games, lantern-making contests, film shows…

This year, provincial-level mid-autumn festival will be held in Thuan An town, which is expected to absorb around 3,000 children. They will be heard a letter of congratulation on the mid-autumn festival of State President; take part in a procession with lanterns; enjoy special art performance items; receive mid-autumn gifts…

Provincial Children Support Fund is also expected to organize a mid-autumn festival, award scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils and students at provincial Convention-Exhibition Center, which will be broadcasted on BTV with the participation of 1,000 children. Along with moon cakes, they will be presented computers, bicycles, money …from donors.

-What are new features of this year’s mid-autumn festival?

One of new features of this year’s mid-autumn festival is that localities in the province will focus on propaganda and mobilization towards the theme of “Prevention of child violence and abuse”.

The sector will coordinate with sectors, departments, mass organizations and schools in the province to organize useful and healthy activities in celebration of this year’s mid-autumn festival for children. Localities and units will hold mid-autumn festivals in association with contents on child protection and care such as “building communes, wards in line with children”, “Prevention of drowning in children”, “building safe, friendly schools”…

Reportedly, the whole province is expected to have around 100 places to organize activities celebrating this year’s min-autumn festival for children. More than 20,000 children will be presented gifts worth VND3billion on this occassion. The sector’s total expenditure for this year’s mid-autumn festival is more than VND5billion, including VND2billion from State budget and the remainder from donors.

-For children at provincial social support centers and offspring of immigrant laborers with difficult circumstances, what is the sector’s plan to organize activities in celebration of this year’s mid-autumn festival for them?

-Provincial DoLISA has advised provincial People’s Committee on organizing delegations to visit and present 1,065 gifts worth VND200million, comprising of moon cakes and cash, to children at centers for disabled children and social support facilities in and out of the province. Besides, provincial DoLISA will coordinate with its branches in TDM city, Thuan An, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat towns to visit and offer gifts to 1,200 children at 40 clubs of “Children with HIV/AIDS prevention”…

On this occasion, children in Binh Duong in general and those with extremely difficult circumstances…will be visited and presented gifts from leaders at all levels of the province and donors, thereby helping them be optimistic, joyful and try to surmount difficulties to get good results in study.
