Update: 20-07-2017 | 17:07:27

The activity of "For the sake of comradeship" has been maintained and implemented effectively by all levels of the Former Youth Volunteers’ Association. The activities have become a great supporting source for many young volunteers facing difficulties in life.

War has been far away, in peacetime life, generations of young volunteers are always side by side on every front line. Upholding the spirit of volunteer, the grassroots organizations have always been exemplary in local movements and campaigns, doing well in studying and following ideologies, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh.

Through many concrete and practical activities, all levels of Former Young Volunteers’ Association in the whole province have tried to carry out many charitable activities, thus helping members to rise up in life including the promotion of mutual assistance of household business development, of supporting members in difficulties. The concerned branches are coordinated in settling the policy regime applicable to former youth volunteers.

Vu Thanh Phuong, the Chairwoman of the Former Young Volunteers’ Association of the province, said: "With the efforts and determination to care for all members, since its establishment, the Association has always been promoting the propaganda aiming at stimulating the solidarity spirit. Members’ contribution, donors, businesses, and benefactors are called for carrying out many practical activities that take care of various members. This is really a very valuable and meaningful gift to motivate the former youth volunteers to stabilize their lives.”

In the emotional atmosphere of July – the month of gratitude, we took up our chance to join the delegation of the Former Young Volunteers’ Association of the province to offer gifts, medical examination and free medicine to its members in Dau Tieng District. This was also an opportunity for young volunteers to meet their comrades and recall the heroic days of war. They were not only given gifts but also offered medical examinations, medical consultation and free medicine from doctors and nurses of Binh Duong Medic.

Vo Van Bich, a former youth volunteer in Thanh An Commune, said: "I am very moved and thankful to the Youth Volunteer Youth Association for making meaningful contributions. We meet our comrades again and recall the time of war while receiving meaningful gifts. Although the value of the gifts is not great, it is comforting and encouraging to us. Hopefully, the Association will have many activities like this for us to meet again.”

The combined activities of medical examination and treatment and gift presentation are just one of many activities that the Former Young Volunteers’ Association has organized to take care of its members. The Association has regularly organized visits to members suffering from illness and challenging lives to assist them to settle down.

Accordingly, from the beginning of 2017, the Association and other authorities have mobilized funds and offered gifts and medical treatment to its members. It has cooperated with charity organizations in Ho Chi Minh City to donate 180 gifts to members in Bau Bang district, Ben Cat district, and Phu Giao district at the cost of VND 227 million. Donations of more than VND 500 million has been called to help fund members in difficult circumstances. The Association is also campaigning to build a charity house for its members in Phu Giao district.

By meaningful and practical actions, the Association of the province has truly become a common warm-hearted home depicting the heroic models of young volunteers in defending and constructing the nation.
