Horasis Asia 2019 creates opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to cooperate and develop together

The 2019 Horasis Asian Meeting will be held from 24 to 26 Nov 2019 at Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center. Following the success of Horasis Asia 2018, the 2019 plan includes 4 plenary meetings, 35 regional dialogue sessions (mainly focusing on Asia), and a secondary event - Horasis for all Festival. On this occasion, Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Co-founder, CEO of InnoLab Asia Huỳnh Công Thắng, a speaker will participate in the Nov 24 update session at Horasis Asia 2019; the consulting unit of Open Innovation Vietnam under Ministry of Science and Technology.

A plenary session of Horasis Asia 2018 was held in Binh Duong.

- Could you please explain, what meaning and impact Binh Duong recent achievements have on the building of Binh Duong Smart City in particular and the development of the province in general, as well as the position of Binh Duong in the international arena?

- Binh Duong is one of the dynamically developing areas of the southern key economic region. I am very happy to witness this place continue to be selected for the Horasis Asia 2019 and the second time on the world’s list of cities with the most excellent smart city development strategy in 2020. Previously, in Oct 2019, Binh Duong officially joined the World Trade Center (WTC). On 23 Nov, Binh Duong will launch the World Trade Center project in Binh Duong New City.

I think that Binh Duong New City is on its way becoming Binh Duong Smart City is a big turning point in the process of building a dynamic, developed and integrated economic region in the world. This has a great impact helping to establish more strong international relationships with smart communities all over the world to exchange information, experience, and attract many talented people into Binh Duong. The position of Binh Duong is increasingly appreciated and equal to many major cities in the world, such as the Netherlands Eindhoven.

- At Horasis Asia 2019, what is your expectation of this forum, sir?

- Horasis Asia 2019 will bring together more than 1,000 guests, who are senior leaders of economic groups from more than 60 countries around the world, guests from the Central, ministries, branches, local leaders, and senior leaders of Vietnamese businesses. The forum consisted of a series of sessions discussing regional and global economic issues, new trends in technology development etc.

From the perspective of someone working in research and development and promoting international cooperation, I think that the most important thing that Horasis Asia 2019 could do is to create opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to develop through meeting, connecting with leading corporations in the world, thereby attracting the attention and opportunities to receive investment by approaching all foreign enterprises participating in the forum. The relationship established from this forum would be a special stepping stone for Vietnamese enterprises to continue the next steps and expand the path of development and integration.

- At Horasis Asia 2019, as a speaker of the update session on the Asian sharing economy, what content will you share at the forum, sir?

- As a speaker of this session, we discuss the role of the sharing economy and how the sharing economy is reshaping the world economy, especially the Asian economy. The way pioneers in the economy share the connection between business model and customers. In addition, this is the way that sharing economy applications create a cashless business ecosystem, leading to changes in customer behavior from cash-dependent to cashless transactions, and "breaking" the global value chain.
