Industrial development creates momentum for hi-tech industry

In 2019, the province’s industrial sector continued maintaining stable growth. The province is making efforts to promote hi-tech industries under the set orientation.

Processing industry playing a main role

The province’s industrial sector in 2019 gained a 9.86% growth compared to the previous year. The proportion of industrial manufacture accounted for 64.1% of the local economic structure. Processing industry continued holding a main role in the common growth of the local industrial sector. The number of orders signed by province-based industrial enterprises saw a growth of 5%-10% against that of 2018.

Over the past years, capital flowing into the province concentrated on industries. Upon this, the local industrial sector reached in-depth development, creating a motivation for urban, trade and service development. In 2019, the whole province had a total of 1,261 industrial enterprises in operation. Noticeably, FDI capital flowing into the province focused on processing, manufacturing industries with high added value.

Since 2016, the province has attracted more than US$2billion in FDI capital every year, surpassing nearly 25% of the plan of the Resolution of the provincial Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure. This result has significantly contributed to the local socio-economic development…

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that along with advantages, the world and region’s political security and economy in 2019 still faced complicated development. But, under the leadership of provincial Party Committee, supervision of provincial People’s Council, the province’s socio-economic situation continued obtaining stable growth. Provincial People’s Committee bent on carrying out policies in all fields; paid attention to removing enterprises’ obstacles.

In addition, the province well mobilized resources for investment and development; concentrated on synchronous infrastructure construction; maintained and expanded international cooperation, facilitating enterprises’ development…

Further attaching special importance to hi-tech industries

In 2020, the province will strive to increase its index of industrial production by 9.55% compared to the same period last year.

Provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) will tighten control over the situation of production-business of enterprises and industries’ associations, aiming to opportunely remove their obstacles for better development. Provincial DoIT will also strengthen support activities for enterprises via industry, trade promotion programs; soon implement software on enterprises’ database management, which is one of the province’s advantages to attract more investors…

According to Mr.Liem, the province will continue well realizing the local project on restructuring of industrial manufacture and plan on cleaner production; further improve the local investment climate, encourage enterprises to show their innovation and creation; perfect a socio-economic infrastructure system, promote urban-service development in order to build up a smart Binh Duong city.

The province will also selectively lure investment projects; attach special importance to industrial development in association with urban development, stabilizing growth speed; give priority to auxiliary, hi-tech industries that are less labor intensive and environmentally friendly.

Especially, the province will put focus on carrying out the progress of development of industrial parks approved by the Government; boost international connection, bring into full play cooperation opportunities with international networks, organizations of the world’s smart cities…
