Update: 08-06-2021 | 17:40:32

Immediately after having a positive case with Covid-19, local authorities quickly activated the plans and set up medical quarantine zones to focus on disease prevention and control and mobilize resources to ensure daily life for people in the medical quarantine areas and to help them feel secure to observe the prescribed quarantine period.

Goods are gathered at the checkpoint before being directly transported inside and distributed to people by the force in charge of disease prevention and control in Tan Hoa neighborhood of Dong Hoa ward, Di An city

Constant local care

During this 4th outbreak, as soon as the first Covid-19 positive case of patient 7059 working at CJ Vina Agri Binh Duong Co., Ltd in Hiep Thanh 3 Residential Area, Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city has set up a blockade and medical quarantine area for a part of Hiep Thanh 3 Residential Area to zone out epidemic prevention and control according to Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister.

Along with the immediate implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures, the attention and support to care for and stabilize people's lives in the quarantined and isolated areas are also supported by the authorities, departments and unions. The city leaders also regularly visit checkpoints to check for the implementation of disease prevention and control and grasp up the living situation of people inside the blockade area and receive support resources from departments, unions and other mobilization sources.

People living in quarantined areas are separated from the outside and restricted from traveling to buy goods and necessities, so they have to ask relatives and friends outside to send them. According to our records at a checkpoint in Hiep Thanh 3 Residential Area, from time to time people inside get to the table set up at the checkpoint to receive goods sent by their relatives and friends from outside at a safe distance. People who come to send the goods are also asked to check their body temperature and spray with antiseptic solution.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot city People's Committee, said the city has implemented supporting activities to help people stabilize their lives and feel secure in the days of the blockade. The city is also interested in supporting goods and food for people in the blockade area by all levels, branches, unions and people in the province. “The attention and support will make people in the blockade area feel secure and stabilize their lives to well implement the quarantine period. We will try our best to ensure the security and order situation as well as stabilize the lives of people in the blockaded area," said Ms. Cuc.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ton Quang Vinh, Chairman of Binh Chuan Ward People's Committee, said that in the blockade and medical quarantine area in Binh Quoi B neighborhood, the locality has established 8 checkpoints to implement safety protection in the area. In the quarantine area, they arrange a force to ensure 24/7 duty, absolutely not to let people in the quarantined area go out or people from outside enter the quarantine area. The locality has called on the business community and people to join hands to support and share with 2,000 people in the blockade area to stabilize life. “Up to now, the lives of people in this area are basically guaranteed. The spirit of disease prevention and control is above all, everyone wants to soon push back the epidemic to return to normal life, so they should follow the epidemic prevention and control regulations very seriously," said Vinh.

Comprehensive help

Being at a number of checkpoints in the blockade areas, we could see that many businesses and benefactors directly transported necessities and sent to help the people inside the quarantine. Goods were divided into small parts by everyone and then delivered to the key points to ask the force to deliver to people in need.

At a checkpoint in Tan Hoa neighborhood of Dong Hoa ward in Di An city, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Hoa ward directly directed donation activities for people inside the blockade. Ms. Trang said that in the medical quarantine area of groups 13 and 14 in Tan Hoa neighborhood, there are about 350 households with 1,900 people. In order to take care of households in the blockade area, the locality has directed departments and unions and called on benefactors to join hands to help. “Every day, units and benefactors provide foods to households inside the blockade area. They also actively contact relatives and friends outside to ask for more necessities to the family. In general, people in the blockade area are very secure and strictly abide by the regulations on disease prevention and control," said Trang.

In the past few days, after learning about some areas under blockade and medical quarantine to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the provincial Red Cross at the soonest stepped in to help. Along with calling and mobilizing for resources, the association also cooperates with departments and units to transport goods to their places to help people and the forces participating in disease prevention and control in some blockade areas in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city and Di An city.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross Association, said: "The goods and necessities that the association has moved to the quarantine areas are donated by philanthropists and units to support the epidemic prevention and control in the province. We are still calling and mobilizing more resources and will carry out shipments to new places of blockade, quarantine, disease prevention and control in the area to convey the love of benefactors and promptly share with people and encourage the forces participating in Covid-19 prevention and control to well perform their assigned tasks.
