Local sector of industry-trade actively supports smart agriculture

At the 2019 provincial conference linking supply-demand for agro-forestry and fishery products just held, the province’s sector of industry and trade made efforts in making coherence between farmsteads, agricultural cooperatives, retailers and distributors at home and abroad towards a stable consumption market, creating a driving force for Binh Duong smart city development in the future.

Supply chain of products modernized

Under its Decision No.975/Qd-UBND dated April 3, 2019 on response to the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” while strengthening trade activities for agricultural products, provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan on the organization of 150 enterprises and 50 distributors in typical localities in the southeastern, Mekong Delta, central and Highlands regions, together with the presence of enterprises supplying logistics solutions, legal consultancy…, aiming to step by step modernize the local supply chain of agro-forestry and fishery products.

Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) said that the unit has coordinated with relevant agencies to promote and build the local farm produce trademark. The conference was seen as a chance for the local farmers to meet and share experience in production, thereby improving the quality and competitiveness of products and meeting demand for domestic consumption and export. It also helped participating enterprises to approach potential distributors at home and abroad in order to form up a linkage chain for stable and long farm produce consumption.

In addition, the event aimed to help participating enterprises tap advantages from e-business and traditional business, improving their efficiency in production and business; call for organizations, individuals and enterprises to build up a healthy business climate, protecting customers’ legitimate rights and interests.

Participating enterprises brought the conference hi-quality products with hi-tech application…The event also absorbed distributors that are capable of consuming agricultural products stably.

Leaders of provincial DoIT wanted that province-based enterprises will continue having close and synchronous coordination with State management agencies, industries’ associations while actively taking part in relevant programs and conferences.

Acceleration of e-business

At the conference, the organizers collected information about enterprises, products and their demand for linkage. They also set up documents on online capacity for each participating enterprise; supported participating enterprises to outline policies on sales and policies for distributors, agencies…

Experts also guided participating enterprises to use solutions to popularize their products through channels, namely email, Facebook, Zalo…for better consumption.

According to Nguyen Hong Quyet, Director of Kim Long Cooperative in Phu Giao district said that promoting e-business for the local agro-forestry-fishery products is very necessary in the current period when hi-tech application is seen as the global trend. The use of blockchain technology will help enterprises be more advantageous in export while meeting domestic customers’ demand for “clean” consumption…

Whilst, Tran Van Sop, Deputy Director of Minh Hoa Phat Cooperative said that the conference helped participating enterprises get access to more useful information, thereby enjoying opportunities for cooperation with partners. It also raised their awareness of the importance of hi-tech application in agricultural production, market research and marketing…

Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Binh Duong has just continued being recognized as one of 21 cities with the world’s most outstanding city development strategy in 2020 by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). The acceleration of demand-supply linkage is of great significance for the local agricultural sector, thereby affirming the effectiveness of the local smart city orientation in line with the global trend…
