This conference is also an activity to celebrate the 110th birthday of Mr. Nguyen Van Tiet (1909-2019), an excellent son of Binh Nham village, Binh Chanh total, Lai Thieu district, Thu Dau Mot province (now part of Binh Nham ward, Thuan An town, Binh Duong). Mr. Nguyen Van Tiet held the position of Secretary of Thu Dau Mot Provincial Committee from 1946-1948.

Nguyen Van Tiet is a teacher, journalist and revolutionary activist. The name of the comrade was also taken as a press award to award the quality press works of Binh Duong. As well as the Huynh Van Nghe Prize for literature and arts, the Nguyen Van Tiet Prize is an honor and pride for journalists writing about Binh Duong today.

Nguyen Van Tiet is one of the first Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee. Nguyen Van Tiet is known as an example of bravery, courage, and foresight, especially the iron heart for the country and for the people. Nguyen Van Tiet (also known as Sau Tiet) was born in 1909, in Binh Nham commune, Thuan An district. Growing up in a poor peasant family, determined to learn to change his life. After graduating from Nam Chau Thanh Community School (now Nguyen Du Primary School), Nguyen Van Tiet returned to be a village school teacher.

In March 1926, he mobilized a student of Thu Dau Mot town, a course, dragged to Saigon to attend the funeral of Phan Chu Trinh. After that, he soon joined the local patriotic "Secret Society". In the spring of 1930, when the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, he instructed farmers, craftsmen in furnaces, sugar furnaces and carpentry farms to apply to the French authorities for tax reduction, reduction of rent, wage increase, improving life.

In August 1930, Nguyen Van Tiet was admitted to the Communist Party Cell of Binh Nham Commune. During the celebration of the October Revolution in Russia at Cay Dao temple, Thuan Giao commune, he was assigned by the branch to clarify the beliefs and dreams of a spring of humanity that appeared in Europe and called on people People supported the Soviet movement Nghe Tinh. After the rally, he was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison and 10 years in exile.

In the middle of 1937, having just escaped from prison, he was assigned by Saigon - Gia Dinh City Party Committee with Mr. Van Cong Khai to lead the revolutionary movement in Thu Dau Mot province. After only a short time, he organized many "Red Unions" in Dau Tieng and "Red Farms" at Lai Thieu ...

In 1946, he was assigned to be Secretary of Thu Dau Mot Provincial Party Committee, replacing Mr. Van Cong Khai in charge of government work. At that time, he was a member of the First National Assembly, Chairman of the Viet Minh Front, Chairman of the Propaganda Committee, Chairman of the "Tien Len" Newspaper of the provincial Party Committee, Political Commissioner, Militia Commissioner cum Provincial militia captain ... Amid the resistance of our people who was about to enter the phase of counterattacking the enemy, at the age of 39, Nguyen Van Tiet fell down on a business inspection trip at Thuan An Hoa War Zone, on April 19, 1948. He was recognized as a martyr by the Provincial People's Committee, awarded the "Badge of the Southern Resistance" in 1948, the First-class Resistance Medal awarded by the President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1949 .

At present, martyr Nguyen Van Tiet is worshiped with five senior party members of the first Communist Party Branch of Thu Dau Mot at Binh Nham temple, Thuan An town, Binh Duong.
