Optimistic signals from industrial production

 Despite of many difficulties due to the Covid-19, with the determination in provincial leadership's direction and administration, efforts of business community and people, Binh Duong is controlling carefully the epidemic and implementing simultaneously economic growth solutions.

 The industry flourishes again

Facing difficulties due to the epidemic, businesses have changed their business strategies by boosting e-commerce, changing key products, actively seeking new suppliers for input materials, and expanding their consumer market. In addition, all levels and branches actively monitor and solve difficulties of businesses, carry out surveys to ascertain the production and business situation. To instruct administrative procedures for accessing preferential policies on tax, banking, electricity price reduction for subjects as prescribed; strengthen investment, trade and industrial promotion activities; Support policies for employees. The index of industrial production of the first 6 months 2020 is estimated to increase by 6.4% over the same period last year. This is the lowest rate compared to the same period in the latest 4 years; but compared to other provinces, cities in the region and the whole country, it is a good growth rate and an optimistic signal.

Enterprises have been gradually recovering their industrial production activities after the social distancing period; previously canceled contracts have been re-signed. However, due to interrupted exports in key export markets, especially the shortage of input materials for production, some garment, footwear and wood processing industries were badly affected, they have made great efforts to maintain production activities.

Two months after establishing the new normal state, socio-economic fields in the province has been gradually recovered and have changed in a good direction. Industrial production continued to sustain its growth rate over the first 6 months of 2020, making a positive contribution to the province's GRDP, especially creating jobs and stable incomes for workers.

To achieve growth goals

According to Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, although facing many difficulties and challenges, industrial production maintained good growth; business community and industrial production establishments have been proactively overcoming difficulties, making efforts to adapt to the new situation, maintaining production and trying to stabilize jobs for laborers.

To guarantee the sustainable growth of the industry, Department of Industry and Trade has comprehensively carried out dissemination and guidance for enterprises to update new-generation free trade agreements; procedures for verifying the origin of export goods to enjoy tariff preferences. In particular, the department stepped up the reform of administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for businesses; provided phone numbers and email addresses of specialized staff to enterprises to regularly receive feedback on problems during the implementation of relevant laws; gave timely answers and instructions...

Bui Minh Tri, Head of Provincial Industrial Parks' Management Board, said that besides assisting and creating favorable conditions for businesses, industrial parks in the province boosted investment in infrastructure, attracting more production projects; strengthening the State management of land, creating favorable conditions, assisting enterprises in develop production. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, said that with drastic and synchronous solutions, Binh Duong has effectively implemented the dual goal of preventing and fighting against Covid-19 and socio-economic development task in the first 6 months, and gained important results. However, the epidemic would still have a great negative impact on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the province in 2020. Therefore, to accomplish the development goals this year, it is necessary to continue having new and effective solutions, while there must be stronger determination from the entire political system, departments, branches, local governments.
