Over 10,000 rural laborers under vocational training for 2010-2015 period

Early March 29, provincial Steering Board of the Project on vocational training for rural laborers (or briefly called the Project 1956) forwarded a conference to partially review  the implementation of the project for the period of 2010-2015, in attendance of Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

 In the period of 2010-2015, there were 10,155 people in the province with vocational training under the Project 1956 or 88.2% of the set plan. Among them, 8,477 were trained in the non-agricultural field and 1,675 in the agricultural field. More than 80% of them got jobs after graduation and the total expense of the Project 1956 during the period was nearly VND14billion.

Provincial Steering Board of the Project 1956 has also set a target of giving vocational training for 1,380 rural laborers in 2017. The figure will be around 4,140 people in the period of 2018-2020.

Also at the conference, localities reported the outcomes of implementation of the Project 1956 while suggesting provincial Steering Board of the Project 1956 to further support them so that this task will be implemented widely and deeply.

Concluding the conference, Mr.Hung required that in the coming time, especially in the period of 2017-2020, members of provincial Steering Board of the Project 1956 need to urgently recheck the demand for vocational training among rural laborers; enhance the quality of vocational training at schools, supplement necessary equipment so that vocational training will be implemented in association with enterprises’ demand. Besides, relevant sectors and departments need to have close coordination in taking solutions on vocational training for rural laborers.

On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee also awarded the certificates of merit to 32 collectives, 37 individuals for their excellent performance in the Project 1956 between 2010 and 2015.
