Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wishes the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hanoi good health, happiness and prosperity just before the scared moment entering the lunar New Year (Tet) 2018.
On the evening of February 15 (the final day of lunar December 2017), Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong paid a Tet visit to the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hanoi, during which he heard Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai report the outstanding results the capital city achieved over the past year, especially in Party building and socio-economic development.
Thanks to sustained efforts, Hanoi fulfilled all the targets, of which six surpassed the set targets. It is worth noting that the budget revenue exceeded 1.4% of the estimate while progress was also achieved in investment attraction, market price stabilization, inflation control and tourism development with the number of international visitors reaching nearly 5 million, up 23% on previous year.
In 2018, Hanoi will continue to fully implement resolutions set out by the Party Central Committee, Politburo, and municipal Party Committee with a focus on effectively realizing socio-economic development plans, especially poverty reduction, and social welfare.
On behalf of the municipal Party Committee, Mr Hoang Trung Hai pledged his best efforts to join hands with Hanoi leaders and people in accomplishing all assigned tasks.
On the occasion, the Party chief congratulated Hanoi people on their great achievements recorded last year.
Later, he offered incense at King Ly Thai To statue at Ly Thai To Garden and Ngoc Son Temple to pay tribute to the King, other national ancestors and martyrs who made every effort to construct and defend the nation.
