Pervasive spring fragrance

On January 10, provincial Red Cross Society held the “Tet for the poor” program 2017 to call for donors to help the poor enjoy a warm and joyful Tet, which was broadcasted live on Binh Duong Radio-Television Station. Attending the event were Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Delegation; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; representatives of sectors, departments; donors, needy people, Agent Orange victims and away-from-home workers in the province.

A significant program

After being launched by provincial Red Cross Society, the “Tet for the poor” program 2017 has so far mobilized more than VND9.7billion from organizations and individuals in and out of the province. With the fund, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels are coordinating with relevant agencies to visit, present gifts to the poor, bringing them a warm and joyful Tet.

Sowing warmness of spring

On January 4 and 5, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels organized delegations to visit and offer more than 2,000 Tet gifts to the poor, the disabled and Agent Orange victims with the participation of provincial leaders and donors.

Although having small value, gifts from the program contributed to bringing the joy to needy families on Tet. Luu Thi Phuong, a poor resident in Dau Tieng district’s Long Tan commune said that when receiving a letter of invitation for Tet gifts, she felt very excited as this was the attention of Party and State for the poor. Whilst, Nguyen Thanh Phuong, CEO of Thanh Phuong Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company in Di An town said that his company has actively got involved in the “Tet for the Poor” program 2017 as this is a significant program. Along with production-business, the company wants to partially contribute its profit to the poor with a desire that they will secure a more stable and well-off life in the new year…

Under the tradition of “The good leaves protect the work-one ones”, every time Tet approaches, donors have a chance to join hands to bring a warmer Tet to the poor. Speaking at the event, Mr.Hung spoke highly of the efforts by cadres, members and volunteers of Red Cross Societies at all levels together previous contributions by donors. He also wanted that the program will further receive more contributions from organizations and individuals in and out of the province, assisting disadvantaged people to rise up in life.
