Phu Cuong with “breakthrough” in trade-service development

On February 27 and 28, the 17^th Party congress of Phu Cuong for the 2020-2025 tenure will officially take place with focus on assessing the result of the implementation of the Resolution of the 16^th local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure. Possibly seeing, the ward’s Party Committee in the last tenure attached special importance to trade-service, home industrial, industrial and urban development in order to create a breakthrough in the local comprehensive socio-economic development process, joining hands with TDM city to fulfill the set targets.

Trade-service on sharp growth

In the last tenure, Phu Cuong ward’s Party, government and people made efforts in surmounting obstacles, actively realized the Resolution of the 16^th local Party congress and gained positive results. The local economic structure was shifted in the right direction with 98% in trade-service and 2% in home industry.

Phu Cuong ward gets involved in urban rejuvenation

The ward saw diversification in terms of service forms with the development of bank branches, supermarkets, convenient stores…, contributing to promoting the local trade-service sector. In 2015, the whole ward had a total of 3,277 households getting involved in trade-service. The figure in early 2020 increased by 1,201 or 157.85% of the set resolution. In terms of home industry, the ward is home to 25 food processing facilities…

Along with vigorous development in trade-service, the ward’s Party Committee in the last tenure excelled at urban planning and development. Over the past five years, the ward built many green parks at the local people’s demand for entertainment and physical training. The ward also carried out trade center projects with connected traffic, making the local urban image more flexible, modern and civilized.

The whole ward now has 100% of alleys covered by concrete, installed with lighting systems. There are also 100% of households in use of clean water; 100% of waste collected and treated…

Paying attention to social welfare

Nguyen Van Sang, Vice-Secretary of Phu Cuong ward’s Party Committee said that the ward in the last tenure attached special importance to constructing cultural institutions in a synchronous way. Many parks were invested with sports equipment at the local people’s demand for entertainment and physical training. The ward also well realized public healthcare; reached 100% of targets of the national target programs on heath, population, family and children…

He added that the ward took good care of the local social policy beneficiaries. In the 2015-2020 period, the ward visited, donated 18,660 gifts worth more than VND2.6billion to policy beneficiary and poor households; built and upgraded 12 charity, gratitude houses worth more than VND390million…Currently, the ward only exists 2 poor households and 3 near-poor ones under the province’s poverty line.

The above results came from the efforts by the local Party and government together with high consensus among people in the process of realizing the Resolution of the local Party Committee in the last tenure.

Focusing on comprehensive development

In the new tenure, Phu Cuong ward’s Party Committee will continue bending on trade-service and home industrial development; well realize solutions to promote hi-quality services; mobilize all resources for the local development towards civilization and modernity; strengthen urban rejuvenation in order to deserve to be a central ward of TDM city, improve the quality of the “civilized urban, cultural lifestyle” campaign, protect the environment and ceaselessly enhance people’s spiritual and material lives; ensured social welfare; maintain the local political security, social safety and order; boost the efficiency and effectiveness of State administration.

To achieve the above targets, the 17^th Party congress of the ward for the 2020-2025 will concentrate on discussing, putting forward annual tasks, specific programs and solutions. Especially, delegates will attach special importance to discussing solutions on building qualified cadres, promoting “studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle” in association with the Resolution of the 4^th plenum of the 12^th Party Central Committee on enhancing the building and rectification of the Party and preventing and curbing ideological, ethical and lifestyle degradation, as well as the manifestation of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” inside the Party, thereby being determined to set up a qualified executive board of the local Party Committee to successfully realize the set targets…
