Phu Giao’s growth targets maintained

Despite the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic, Phu Giao district managed to ensure its growth targets by many synchronous solutions over the past six months.

Focus on socio-economic development

Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that the district has been proactive to enhance the Party’s leadership and fighting capacity, mobilizing the entire political system to further uphold the effectiveness of the local advantages. Particularly, the district will mobilize all resources to diversify investment forms, continue boosting 3 breakthrough programs on infrastructure development; promote clean agricultural production models with sci-tech application and large scale in association with tourism and industrial development for agricultural sector, thereby contributing to the process of industrialization and modernization for the local agricultural and rural development.

Production in Tam Lap industrial compound

Over the past six months, the district’s socio-economic development continued reaching positive results with political security, social order-safety maintained. The district’s industrial, home industrial production value was estimated at more than VND1.78trillion, up 6.52% compared to the same period last year. The district’s agro-forestry production value was more than VND2trillion, up 4.38% against the same period last year or 45.1% of the year’s plan. The district’s State budget collection was estimated at more than VND617billion or 52.1% of the set target while State budget spending was estimated at more than VND446billion or 45% of the set target. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at more than VND2.9trillion, up 12.93% compared to the corresponding period or 40.18% of the year’s plan.

Industrial development for agricultural production

Rural and agricultural development is seen as a core factor for the evolution of Phu Giao district. For the 2016-2020 period, the local agricultural sector has been fostered towards goods production in association with the market, improving economic efficiency; encouraged agricultural production with hi-tech application, sustainable agricultural production in association with environmental protection.

Defining that industrial, home industrial production is a motivation for socio-economic breakthrough, so the district has focused on this field with the annual growth of 12.82% between 2016 and 2020. The district now has some main industrial scopes on processing agricultural products, exploiting minerals, manufacturing building materials…, significantly contributing to the local State budget. So far, the whole district has had a total of 573 industrial, home industrial production facilities with nearly 3,000 laborers.

Provincial People’s Committee has approved 5 industrial compounds of 298.15 hectares in Phu Giao district. So far, Tam Lap industrial compound has put a tyre-making factory into operation with the capacity of 900,000 products per year, absorbing nearly 200 laborers. Tam Lap 2 industrial compound of 52.01 hectares and Phuoc Hoa industrial compound of 66.62 hectares are completing procedures for investment. The remaining industrial parks, namely Tam Lap 3 of 70.31 hectares and Tam Lap 4 of 50.66 hectares, have fulfilled procedures asking for adjustment into the plan for investment attraction. As planned, the district has been allowed to zone Vinh Lap industrial park of 500 hectares.

Mr.Dong said that with advantages in terms of land fund, young laborers, material resources from rubber timber and agricultural products, the district’s People’s Committee will set out a program on industrial development towards logistics in processing agricultural products and wooden items. The district will further bend on processing, exploiting minerals, manufacturing building materials…
