Phu Giao tourism is on the way of development

 To exploit the potential and advantages of agricultural and rural tourism, Phu Giao district is calling upon investors, connects with regional routes, and develop characteristic tourism products. These strategic solutions have taken steady steps and improved the value of agricultural production, heightened income of people in the district.

Rat stream with natural rocks, pristine scenery is an attractive tourist destination of Phu Giao district.

Many optimistic signals

Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district People's Committee, said that 2021 was the first year Phu Giao district implemented Party resolution 2020-2025. On the basis of the general development goal, the district is cooperating with Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities to carry out "Building Smart Village based on high-tech agricultural models combined with ecotourism" in Gia Bien hamlet, Tam Lap commune. This is a pilot project of the district to exploit local potential and strengths, contributing to creating a driving force for socio-economic development integrated with the new, improved rural construction in the district.

In addition the district has renovated historical relic Song Be River bridge. Phase 1 is completed, and the district is executing the second phase. The District People's Committee also embellished historic Palace of Phuoc Thanh Province's Governor (Traditional House of the district) and built toilets, lighting system at River Be Bridge. Previously, the district cooperated with travel companies to attract tourists to visiting and experiencing rural life, combined with buying and selling on-the-spot agricultural products, providing catering, relaxation, entertainment services. Besides, Phu Giao built up an eco-tourism development program in existing hi-tech agricultural zones integrated with tourism exploitation on Phuoc Hoa reservoir.

The District People's Committee determines to develop local tourism products, has taken strong measures, directed functional branches to organize surveys and develop Rat stream eco-tourism area in An Binh commune; set up land acquisition plan for a complex of historic Be River broken bridge in Vinh Hoa and Phuoc Hoa communes. In the immediate future, the district will develop some more pilot models, such as ecological farms along rivers and streams, creating tourist attractions, promoting local agricultural products, creating agricultural value chain combined with ecotourism, religious tourism and historical-cultural sightseeing.

To drastically implement solutions

Phu Giao district specified that the development of agricultural and rural tourism is a fundamental solution to increase the value of agricultural production; thus the district attaches importance to interests of the people, promotes traditional cultural values, takes benefits of the community, culture and characteristics of the region as the foundation and strength to create a differentiation for district tourism. Phu Giao district is also studying characteristic agricultural products, in which priority is given to areas having accomplishments in advanced new rural construction. The district also accelerate the use of IT and communications to promote rural tourism products at  tourism promotion forums, fairs, and activities.

At present, tourism potential of Phu Giao district has not been well exploited. Rat stream is magnificent with its beautiful natural landscape, but the road from beginning of DT741 road is difficult to enter the stream, tourism services here are still spontaneous. In addition to this tourist attraction development, the district is calling for investment in the construction of various types of services to serve tourists. In the immediate future, the District People's Committee assigns local authorities to develop temporary management regulations to ensure safety, environmental sanitation and public security order at tourist sites. At present, Phu Giao can put following sites, such as Historical relic Be River Bridge, Truc Lam Thanh Nguyen Monastery, Palace of Phuoc Thanh Province's Governor as stops in a tour linking Ho Chi Minh City - Binh Duong - Binh Phuoc along DT741.

In the coming time, in order to well exploit the local potential and advantages, Mr. Doan said: “The district is actively calling for socialization investment to promote the formation and development of different types of tourism, focusing on the development of tourism products combined with high-tech agriculture. The district also continues to invite provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Provincial Tourism Promotion Center, together with travel companies to carry out surveys, orient the formation of tourism products to connect tours and tourism regions; hold workshops on tourism development in the district in the coming time; hold a contest to design souvenirs characterizing Phu Giao district to promote images of the district to tourists”.
