Preschools and kindergartens for working people’s children to be socialized by provincial labor union

Construction of preschools and kindergartens for working people’s children has become urgently necessary; thus, along with investment of local authorities, Binh Duong Provincial Labor Union and enterprises are joining hands to offer more kindergartens and preschools to working people’s children. This shall mitigate worries about places for children, making workers at ease to keep on working for their employers in the cause of production and business development and more contribution to the society.

The joy of 28-7 Preschool

In 2020-2021, the 28-7 Preschool, the first ever school for children of working people residing at Quarters 3 and 4 of My Phuoc Ward in Ben Cat Town, has been in the second phase construction, bringing joy to local parents. Nguyen Thi Hong, a worker at My Phuoc Industrial Park 2 in Ben Cat town, said: “We, parents, are delight to see that our children may enter beautiful schools. It is special for us as we can have a place for them to be educated without sending them back to their grandparents, which is so poor to them.” Hong, a worker from Thanh Hoa, is making ends meet in Binh Duong. Despite difficulties, she is so happy for her children as they can now go to local school.

According to Nguyen Thi Nhung, the Principal of 28-7 Preschool, 10 classrooms, functional rooms, teachers’ room, and playing ground are available to meet the needs of 350 children. Currently, 240 children at 2-5 have enrolled. Those enrollments are mostly working people’s children at Quarters 3 and 4 of My Phuoc Ward. The school is being refined in terms of teaching staffs and student enrollment to operate at full force.

Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Deputy Chairman of Provincial Labor Union informed that the 28-7 Preschool is the construction for working people’s children in the province invested by Provincial Labor Union in Ben Cat Town which is a locality of strong industrial development, bringing up the needs for housing, recreational zones, and especially schools for working people’s children. The school covers over 10,000 square meters. In the first construction stage, the school portion being used since 2015 covers 1,300 square meters at a cost of VND 3.5 billion funded by charity. For the new school year, the phase 2 construction of the school is put into use after being constructed by sponsorship of enterprises at VND 18 billion, covering an area of 8,646 square meters of 2 stories, 10 classrooms, functional rooms, teachers’ room and playing ground, meeting education need of 350 children. The 28-7 Preschool has been constructed to offer education of working people’s children, helping them to be worry free and concentrate on production for a more civilized and beautiful Binh Duong.

Enterprises join in

Nguyen Dinh Khanh informed that under decisions of General Labor Union of Vietnam regarding the socialization of resources to take care of working people and their children. In the past time, Provincial Labor Union has made non-stop researches to find out effective models to satisfy its members’ wishes. Together with all-level authorities and provincial Labor Union, various enterprises have joined the care for working people and their children including the construction of kindergartens and preschools. Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of Labor Union of Shyang Hung Cheng Co. Ltd. said: “So as to make working people worry free, we have construct a preschool for their children. Currently, we have 10 classrooms and accommodation for education of 270 children.”

Up to date, 11 enterprises in the province have been investing into construction of preschools for education of working people’s children. The figures are still humble but those are efforts of grassroots unions and employers to share with working people. In those schools, the enterprises mainly finance the construction and payroll to teachers for educating children of people working for them. The typical examples are Vinh Hy Preschool of Shyang Hung Cheng, Vang Anh Preschool of Yazaki EDS Vietnam, International May Preschool of NALT Garment Co. Ltd., and Hai My Preschool of Hai My Co. Ltd.
