Preservation and promotion of historical-cultural monuments

Historical and cultural monuments in the province are a resource for promoting local tourism development. In recent years, the province has paid attention to preserving, protecting and promoting the values ​​of these sites.

Protection and preservation strengthened

Iron Triangle tunnels are located in three communes An Dien, An Tay, Phu An (Ben Cat Town). An investment project of statues’ zone was approved by Provincial People's Committee in 2009 with a total investment capital of more than 225 billion VND, total area of ​​17 ha, including 6 fine art works and 20 architectural works. From the beginning of 2018, Management Board of provincial historical monuments and tourist attractions has arranged exhibition areas, sign boards, toilets, regulations, purchased equipment and devices for documentary film screening... to depict daily-life activities of the people in the tunnels. At present, this site is opened to visitors. The visitor number to this monument is growing, in 2014 was 4,163 visitors, in 2017 was 11,351 visitors, in Q3-2018 was 7,296 visitors.

 

Kien An forest is preserved and promoted. 

The project for the restoration of Ho Chi Minh campaign’s command post (Dau Tieng district) was approved with a total investment of more than VND14 billion. Phase 1 included following works: exhibition space, management office, guest house, yards, headquarters, Hoang Cam stove, memorial steles, car park, greeneries and equipment. Management Board of provincial Monuments and Attractions collected 100 images, 45 artifacts and documents for exhibition and introduction. Every year, this site receives from 3,000 to 4,000 visitors.

Historical area of ​​Kien An forest in Dau Tieng district was invested by the provincial People's Committee with a total of over VND 52 billion. Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism set up a plan for exhibition space with diversified contents to illustrate the two resistance wars at Kien An revolutionary base in the 1960-1975 period in order to assert the great role of Kien An forest - revolution base at the northwest gateway of Saigon, contributing to traditional education for young generations.

Zone D base’s project was approved by provincial People's Committee with a total area of ​​39.8ha, including 4 functional areas: central area, outdoor display area, and tourist area. Management Board of provincial capital construction investment project completed a number of works. Besides, provincial People's Committee also approved the restoration of Phu Long communal house with a total investment of VND14 billion. There was a project of renovating historical archaeological site Doc Chua with total investment VND28.9 billion.

To promote cultural values

There are 56 historical and cultural monuments in the province, including 12 nation-level monuments and 44 province-level monuments. It can be said that Binh Duong has paid special attention to investing, preserving and promoting cultural, historical and revolutionary educational values ​​for people of all strata. Main activities such as camping trips to red addresses, activities on big holidays.... In addition, these sites are also the place to organize events and activities of localities, thereby contributing to communication and education on revolutionary traditions for the people, especially the younger generation.
